In her first televised interview since being assaulted and beaten by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, Rihanna told 20/20‘s Diane Sawyer she “was wrong” to go back to Brown after he attacked her.

“I stayed. I even went back after he beat me, which was wrong,” Rihanna told Sawyer in the 20/20 interview. “But again… I’m a human being and people put me on a very unrealistic pedestal. And all these expectations, I’m not perfect.”

Rihanna’s interview on ABC’s 20/20 sent the show’s ratings through the roof, making it the top-rated show for the night among 18 to 49-year-olds. Watch the Rihanna 20/20 full interview with Diane Sawyer below.

Meanwhile, Chris Brown has responded to Rihanna’s interviews on Good Morning America and 20/20 by saying he wishes his ex would keep the details of the domestic violence incident private. “I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us,” he said in the statement to MTV.

As Rihanna speaks out for the first time about being the victim of domestic violence on Good Morning America, the man that abused her is also taking to the small screen to offer up another apology for his actions. Chris Brown sat down with MTV News’ Sway Calloway for an interview airing Friday night, apologizing yet again for beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

“When I apologize, I really apologize, definitely, about the situation, like me and her personally, obviously,” Chris Brown says in the MTV interview. “We’ve exchanged, I’ve exchanged my apologies for her, but when I do it publicly, it’s for the people who I let down: It’s for the fans, it’s for all the people, even the sponsors, even the people that have invested in me and thought that I was good enough role model.”

Brown was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community service after pleading guilty to felony assault charges for beating, biting and choking Rihanna, leaving her with numerous injuries. He has since issued numerous public apologies for the attack of his former girlfriend.

“I really wanted to apologize [to] the people that I let down and show people that I am wrong for what I’ve done, but I want people to learn from it and see that I’m really apologetic,” Brown says in the MTV interview.

Brown says he is trying to learn from his mistakes and figure out how to “turn it into a positive and help other people with the situation, and at the end of the day, become the person that you want to be.”

A celebrity-filled Michael Jackson tribute concert scheduled to take place in Vienna on Sept. 26 has been cancelled. Instead, the concert will be rescheduled for next year in London, according to event promoter George Kindel.

Jermaine Jackson, Michael Jackson’s brother, announced the Vienna tribute concert at a news conference earlier this week. In his announcement, Jermaine Jackson said stars such as Akon, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown and Natalie Cole would be performing at the Michael Jackson tribute concert. However, Blige, Brown and Cole all later denied being part of the event.

“Many artists and performers who I have spoken to personally told me that it would be a great honor to be part of this memorial concert for my late brother – an artist who influenced the music world like virtually no other,” Jermaine Jackson said in a press statement.

“However, due to the short time frame it was not possible for many of them to change their schedule so that they could be on stage in Vienna on September 26, therefore we decided, after careful consideration, to change the date of the tribute concert to June 2010 – just a few weeks before the first anniversary of his untimely death.”

Event promoter George Kindel said advance tickets purchased for the Vienna Michael Jackson tribute concert would be refunded. Tickets for the rescheduled concert in London will go on sale December 1.

Janet Jackson is set to perform a one-time tribute to late brother Michael Jackson at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. The tribute performance will feature choreography from Frank Gatson and Travis Payne, among others.

More than 20 musical acts will be on hand for another Michael Jackson tribute in Austria later this month. Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige and Natalie Cole will be among the luminaries performing at the tribute concert.

Jermaine Jackson will reportedly sing a virtual duet with his later brother Michael and all of the performers will gather together for a special rendition of “We Are the World”. The tribute will be held at the Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna on September 26.

The MTV Video Music Awards will air Sunday, Sept 13 at 9pm on MTV.
