Douglas is “very optimistic” about the treatment he is undergoing for the disease, he said in a statement to People.

This has been rather a rough year for Michael Douglas, whose son, Cameron Douglas, was jailed earlier this year on charges of conspiring to sell crystal meth and herion.

The 65-year-old actor and husband to Catherine Zeta-Jones will undergo eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy treatment for the throat tumor. After that, Douglas will be working hard on promoting his new Wall Street sequel film, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, which debuts in theaters later this year.

The latest Big Brother 12 commercial video doesn’t really give us much in the way of hints on the houseguests or what to look forward to on the new season. But we’ll take any teasers we can get until the premiere on July 8th. The new official CBS Big Brother 12 website is looking good, but so far it doesn’t really have much to pick over yet either.

After being called everything from a child pornographer to a pedophile, Perez Hilton later removed the photo. He claims, however, that the photo was not child porn and he did not do anything wrong because Cyrus was obviously wearing underwear in other photos taken at the same time.

“Do you think Miley is that stupid to be out in public without panties?” Hilton said in a video post on PerezHilton.com. “Do you think I am stupid enough to post a photo of Miley if she is not wearing any underwear down there?”

Hilton said he posted the photo to demonstrate the “very unladylike fashion” of how Cyrus got out of the car with her legs spread, allowing paparazzi to snap photos of what was under her skirt.

Asked about the controversy on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show on Tuesday, Cyrus didn’t address whether she really was wearing underwear in the photo. Instead, she said Perez Hilton posting the photo was just “some idiot being an idiot.” Then, of course, she turned the whole thing into a plug for her new album. “Isn’t it funny things like that, that are so negative, have to come out right before my record?”

We really don’t care whether the Miley Cyrus upskirt photo actually showed anything or not. We don’t care if it was a fake Photoshopped to look like she was flashing her stuff. We do care, however, that Perez Hilton would post a photo of a 17-year-old girl that LOOKED like it showed her privates. In our opinion, that is pretty much child porn no matter which way you try to spin it.

Laurie David, the ex-wife of Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David, told Time.com she did not have an affair with Al Gore. David said the Star magazine story about the alleged affair is “completely and totally untrue. I adore Al and Tipper and consider them part of my family. I’m in a committed relationship and couldn’t be happy.”

The newest issue of Star magazine, due on stands Wednesday, claims Al Gore and Laurie David had a two-year affair after working together on the Academy Award-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth. This affair, Star claims, eventually led to Al Gore and wife Tipper Gore separating after 40 years of marriage.

Interestingly enough, Laurie David broke up with husband Larry David in 2007 amid rumors of an affair with a caretaker of their Martha’s Vineyard home. He and David are reportedly still together.

Touchdown Jesus statue in Monroe, Ohio (Solid Rock Church)

Maybe he/she thought it was unflattering, or got sick of all the semi-nasty nicknames for it. Some of our favorites include: Big Butter Jesus, Drowning Jesus and Quicksand Jesus. (And yes, there are even more nicknames.) You can probably guess most of the origins of those nicknames from the photo.

The Big Butter Jesus nickname isn’t quite as obvious, but apparently the statue had kind of an off-white buttery color under certain light. A comedian named Heywood Banks actually wrote a song called “Big Butter Jesus” dedicated to the statue.

Anyway, the huge Jesus statue was totally nuked after lightning apparently struck one of its hands and quickly consumed the rest. Apparently it was made out of Styrofoam and fiberglass – and very flammable.

The Solid Rock Church plans to rebuild the statue once it can afford to replace the $250,000 it took to make it in the first place. Personally, we think if someone up there decided to set Jesus on fire, maybe the church should think about spending that money some other way. Like feeding the homeless or clothing the poor. Just saying.

Jane Lynch in iPhone 4 parody ad (Take180.com)

In the spoof commercial, Jane Lynch says she was “lost once too” just like the new iPhone 4 prototype, except she wasn’t lost in a bar, she was lost in an “underground pleasure lair.” Lynch also says she too has “a camera on my front, but I tell people it’s a third nipple so they don’t feel less than.”

Our favorite line though is Lynch saying she ”used to have multiple apps, God I miss the nineties.” And what were the nineties like the fake Apple guy asks? “Like clusterbombs going off in my pants,” Lynch says.

Is there anything this woman does that isn’t just freaking hilarious?

Paula Deen (Food Network)

Paula Deen and husband Michael Groover claim Mary Alice White stole loads of items from them between August 2009 and May 2010, according to TMZ.com. Groover says he found some of the missing jewelry in White’s possession and they immediately fired her.

Paula Deen is the star of Food Network’s Paula’s Home Cooking and several other shows. She also recently published a memoir, It Ain’t All About The Cooking.

White was arrested on May 5 and charged with felony theft. No word yet on a court date.

Adalius Thomas

According to ESPN.com, Adalius Thomas was released from the New England Patriots on Monday. Thomas is now free to play for whatever team will take him and allegedly would be most interested in signing with the New York Jets. Thomas played under Jets coach Rex Ryan when he was on the Baltimore Ravens and Ryan was defensive coordinator for that team.

Thomas told 98.5’s The Sports Hub in February that he wanted to play “somewhere where I’m wanted and where I’m going to have fun. That’s where I want to be.” He said his last season with the Patriots was “definitely a frustrating year as that goes.”

We’ll be interested in seeing if Thomas gets picked up by the Jets – and if he can manage to find chemistry with them when he obviously couldn’t with the Patriots.

Donald Trump told TMZ.com Monday that Bret Micheals is in “big, big trouble and the prognosis is not great.” The former Poison front man was competing on this season of Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice before falling ill. “He turns out to be an amazing competitor,” Trump said, “and ultimately that is the thing that could save his life.”

A representative for Bret Michaels posted an update on the singer’s condition on his official website, saying he “remains in ICU under 24 hour surveillance.” Doctors have reportedly not yet found the source of bleeding in Michaels’ brain.

At the end of Sunday’s Celebrity Apprentice, a voice-over paid tribute to the singer turned reality TV star: “Everyone here at NBC wishes Bret Michaels a speedy recovery.”
