Actor Gary Coleman was hospitalized Wednesday but is doing ‘fine’ at this time, according to his rep. The former Diff’rent Strokes star reportedly went to the hospital after he fell ill at a promotional event in Los Angeles Wednesday morning. Coleman’s agent, Robert Malcom, said in a statement that the actor began feeling unwell while doing promotional work at a hotel in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Coleman went back to his room to rest, but started feeling worse. An ambulance was called to take him to the hospital, where he is currently undergoing tests. TMZ.com reports a source told them Coleman appeared to have had a “seizure” of some kind and appeared confused and disoriented before going to the hospital.

Coleman’s rep did not provide any additional details about Coleman’s health, but said he is “fine” and there is no immediate cause for concern. Coleman suffers from kidney disease and has had two kidney transplants since 1973.

Wow. I remember being a kid & watching Different Strokes, and being sad whever he was on-screen cuz everybody said he’d die before he got a chance to be an adult. But here he is! I hope he recovers swiftly.
