The estate of late pop icon Michael Jackson wants the leaked recording of his previously unheard duet “Another Day” with Lenny Kravitz pulled from the Net immediately. Sony Music and Michael Jackson’s estate say the song was never meant to be released.

A new Michael Jackson track labeled “Another Day” leaked onto the Internet over the weekend. The partial snippet of song features Michael Jackson singing on a song similar to “Storm” from Kravitz’s 2004 CD Baptism. Although the song is reportedly a duet between Lenny Kravitz and Michael Jackson, only Jackson is heard singing in the clip.

Lenny Kravitz says the song is the duet he recorded years ago with Michael Jackson. “It was one of the most amazing musical experiences that I’ve ever had,” he said in a video message posted to his Twitter feed on Monday. “It was done by two people who had respect for each other and who love music — that was it.”

“As you know and have heard, part of the song leaked — not by me, because mine has been locked up in a vault since we recorded it,” Kravitz said. “The version that’s out is a minute and 30 seconds, roughly, of the track — not mixed, but it is the track.”
