Survivor Philippines Premiere Live Recap: Three Tribes For Survivor Season 25

Who is excited for Survivor Philippines premiere tonight??? The show that kicks of Season 25 tonight is still the buzz on the town, as fans are still watching Survivor 2012 even after all this time. Tonight, we get to meet 15 new castaways and three old ones that will take part in Survivor Season 25. Of course we have Jeff Probst back as the host and the castaways will take on the Philippines for Survivor Season 15.

For Survivor Philippines, the castaways will be split into three tribes. Returning for redemption are Russell ShawMike Skupin and Jonathan Penner, all who left their seasons due to medical evacuation. Some we wanted gone and some we were sad to see leave Survivor. Also making an appearance on Survivor Philippines will be some celebrities, as Lisa Whelchel (Blair from The Facts of Lifeand Jeff Kent (former MVP of the San Francisco Giants) try their hand to win Season 25.

So, I will be doing my Survivor Philippines Premiere live recap tonight, so you won’t want to miss it. CBS is making it an extra half hour long tonight for the premiere, so even more drama for us to watch. As much fun as it is to see the new seasons start on these shows, it bothers me because I have to learn all the contestants names! Some will stand out, but then others will be hard to remember, right? What are you looking forward to most on Survivor Season 25? Come back and watch along with me tonight and let’s see what these castaways have up their sleeves!

The contestants make their way to the island and we meet some of the cast. Zane seems a little crazy with his Frankenstein tattoo and Lisa Whelchel is not telling anyone she played Blair and she just wants to be Lisa. We see the returning players and how they are out for blood. Day one of 39 is about to start! Jeff Probst arrives in his speed boat and let the games begin!

The players are in there three tribes and Zane said he is happy with there being no celebrities (um, hello Jeff Kent and Lisa)! Jeff tells them that previous contestants will be returning and they arrives on another speed boat. Time to meet Jonathan, Russell and Mike. All three were leaders on their tribes and they have experience. Russell joins the Purple Tribe (Matsing Tribe), Jonathan joins the Red Tribe (Kalabaw Tribe) and Mike joins the Yellow Tribe (Tandang Tribe).

The hidden immunity idles are in play again this season and the boats are loaded with supplies that will help the players survive in their camps. They have 60 seconds to grab as much as they can and get on their boats. They all hustle to grab things and get off the boat in time. The Red Tribe loses everything from their raft and must get everything back on. As they get on their rafts, Jeff Kent snaps his knee and he is not sure if he hurt it or not, but thinks this could hurt him with his tribe if it is hurt.

Russell Shaw said he is not doing the leadership thing this time around, but they are working as a team. He said if someone wants to step up as leader, he will let that doofus take over and watch them crash and burn Angie calls it the right way and says that Russell is not wanting to be leader, but he is calling the shots for everything. I think a leader is a leader and he can’t help but be one and take over. Malcolm takes over with trying to start a fire and him and Russell get it started for the Matsing Tribe! Zane said he would give his buff if anyone else has fire within 45 minutes of being there. Angie and Malcolm talk and said let Russell do his thing now and let him think he started the fire.

Now time to look at the Red Tribe and Jeff gets off the raft and his knee is hurting, even though he is trying to hide it from everyone. He is holding strong on that knee, as the team gets their camp set-up. Jonathan has a moment as he is moved to be on the island again and doing it again. Jeff pulls the tribe members aside and they all agree that Jonathan needs to go home and a new player should win. They said they will use his experience the first few days, but Sabrina said he is out as soon as they can get him out!

The Yellow Tribe arrives to their camp and Mike is feeling good with his tribe and he thinks they have a really good mix between brains and brawns. RC and Abi-Maria seem to connect right away and are getting along very well, even though RC is telling everyone she is an executive assistant, even though she is an investment banker. Abi has an accent and she is trying to use that against people. Abi starts flirting with Pete and they seem to have formed an alliance. They decide to add Mike to the alliance and he says he is going with the game, so he is moving fast with them or else he is in big trouble.

For the Red Tribe, Dana is not seeing anyone tatted up like her and punked out, but she is a Southerner and thinks they may have a connection with that. Jeff is keeping the baseball player thing under wraps, but Dawson used to date a guy who was huge into baseball and she recognizes Jeff. She said she will play that card when she needs to.

Now to the Yell Tribe and see Jill try to make friends with all her tribe members. She has been a fan of Survivor for years, but she is excited to see what changes inside of her. She wants to keep the teen star thing under wraps also. RC said that Lisa is a loner and saying things to undermine people and she doesn’t trust people. Mike said Lisa should be playing the card of the teen star, but he wants to know her strategy for not saying anything. Mike and Lisa have a little meeting later at night and he tells her he knows who she is. He wants to keep her around, but she must start playing the game and he is playing the game, even if it breaks his heart to send her home.

For the Purple Tribe, Denise and Zane have a little talk and Denise thinks he has more to him and a story because of the tattoos. Meanwhile, he goes around to everyone and tries to start an alliance with everyone. He goes to Malcolm and Russell and tells them he wants the alliance with them three and he has an alliance with them all and he can bring them…not smart! Now Malcolm and Denise chat and they have a bond and decide an alliance with them is needed!

The Yellow Tribe is not doing well with their camp and the roof is not strong and it keeps raining, so Mike takes a leadership role. He then proceeds to injure himself all over the place. He scrapes his head, gets a blister on his hand, cuts his foot and then cuts his finger on the coconut! Get it together Mike!

The Red Tribe is meeting and they don’t like the shadiness going on with Jonathan already. He is out looking for the immunity idle as they all have a little meeting. As Jonathan continues to look, he searches the rice and he finds a clue for the immunity idle. Meanwhile on the Purple Tribe, Russell is making rice for the tribe and he finds a clue in the rice. Then Zane asks him if he is looking for the idle and he said no and he won’t because they are a team. Zane thinks it sounds shady on Survivor Philippines, so he said Russell is the first one gone.

Time for the first Immunity Challenge on Survivor Philippines! Each tribe will be tied together in pairs. They will race into the jungle and climb a cargo net, where they will release two paddles. The next pair will use those paddles to row their boat out into the ocean and dive down and release a chest and swim it back to shore. The final pair will use the pieces in the chest to solve a puzzle. The first two tribes to finish will win immunity and the losing tribe will go to Tribal Council on Survivor Season 25 and one person will be headed home! The first tribe done wins a fire-making kit and the second tribe done wins flint.

The tribes discuss who they want to do what and of course Russell “I don’t want to be a leader” Shaw tells everyone to calm down and he takes over control! Roxanne tries to put her opinion in and he cuts her off…so annoying! The tribes get in place and they are off! The Yellow Team is out first with their paddles and the Purple Tribe is next. Mike and Pete are in the water for the Yellow Tribe. The Red Tribe is way behind, but in the water now.

The Yellow tribe gets to the point in the water and they dive down and get their chest on Survivor Philippines. Meanwhile, the Red Tribe passes the Purple Tribe and they get their chest firstAll three teams have their chests, as the Yellow tribe is struggling to get the chest out of the water and onto shore. The Yellow Tribe starts on the puzzle and then the Red Tribe gets started and finally the Purple Tribe. The Yellow Tribe is going strong, but the Red Tribe is catching up. It is down to one piece for both the Red and the Yellow and with the huge come-from-behind win the Red Tribe wins and the Yellow Tribe finishes right after, so the Purple Tribe are the losers tonight on Survivor Philippines and will be heading to Tribal Council.

Russell Shaw didn’t want to be the leader, but he took over for the challenge and gave out duties to everyone, even though they were telling him different. He wasn’t listening to anyone and I think that is going to get him sent home! The Purple Tribe gets back to camp and like an idiot throws himself under the bus. He said that everyone needs to be strong and he gave up in the challenge and after three days he is worthless. However, this is his strategy and thinks this will keep him there longer on Survivor 25. Do you think it will work?

Meanwhile, Angie and Roxy meet and are angry with Russell for not listening to them in the challenge. They want to keep Zane, even though he is weaker in challenges and want to blindside Russell. Malcolm and Zane meet and now Zane is playing the whole tribe. They are looking at voting out Russell, but they are worried he has an Immunity Idle.

The Purple Tribe heads to Tribal Council on Survivor Philippines and let the fireworks begin, right? Zane said that the old players being there is like an onion and then babbles on and shows how much of an idiot he is. Malcolm said that Russell came on a little too strong for the challenge today. Roxy said he came on strong and he said how things were going to go. Angie said she ran track in high school, but he didn’t want her to run and gave her the puzzle part and said if they lose it is her fault! Russell is defending himself big time, so he is worried! Even though Zane said he should go home, Russell is still worried.

It is now time to vote on Survivor Philippines and this is going to be interesting to see. I think it is going to be Russell going home, how about you? Of course, they only show Zane vote for Russell and Russell vote for Zane, so it is all up in the air. Jeff Probst goes and tallies the votes and the first person voted out of Survivor 25 is Zane! He played too many cards and it came back to bite him in the ass! Who did you want to go home tonight?
