Adam Lambert Good Morning America Concert Cancelled

An appearance by glam rocker Adam Lambert on Good Morning America Wednesday to promote his new album For Your Entertainment has been cancelled. ABC said in a press statement the network decided to pull the appearance after Lambert’s sexually-charged performance at the American Music Awards on Sunday.

“Given his controversial American Music Awards performance, we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning,” a rep for ABC news said in a statement on Tuesday. ABC notified fans planning to attend the free Adam Lambert concert planned by Good Morning America by e-mail.

ABC said the network had received over 1,500 complaints about Adam Lambert’s AMAs performance. During his stage show, Lambert simulated oral sex with a dancer, led several dancers on leashes and lip-locked with a male keyboardist. Portions of the performance were censored when the AMAs aired on the West Coast.

Adam Lambert fans need not worry though, they’ll get a chance to see the American Idol runner-up on Wednesday morning anyway. CBS has snapped up the rocker to appear on The Early Show instead.

Bravo to CBS for being willing to court a bit of controversy! Especially since they know they’ll be racking up some serious ratings with Glambert in the house.
