This week’s episode of FYI’s series Seven Year Switch brought things back to normal, with the couples returning to their original households. It seems like a dream come true for the couples, until details of their experiences are revealed. Will the couples decide to stick it out, or do they want to part ways and pursue another life?
Hang on! Make sure you know what happened last week, first: Seven Year Switch 2015 Recap: S1 E6 – Facing Regret.
It’s finally time for all the Seven Year Switch couples to return to their regular lives! Although it was bittersweet for them all, they were all anxious to be reunited with their original spouses.
When CW saw Rachel, he said she looked even more beautiful and seemed super happy to see her, so much to the point that he picked her up, put her on their bed, and just kissed her. At dinner they discussed their experiment experiences. Rachel told CW about how Danielle told her about them drinking together. CW denied it, even though we all know they drank multiple times together (Bad CW!). While Rachel was still talking about it, CW cut her off, asking if they could change the subject, since he never drank with Danielle. He lied right to her face! Rachel decided to believe her husband and threw out what Danielle said. When asked about why he didn’t tell the truth, CW said that she’s too sensitive to be told something like that right now. Boy, bye!
Later on the experts paid them a visit. In talking with the couple, the experts’ main focus seemed to be on Rachel. They felt that CW seemed to be so focused on Rachel’s growth rather than his own and they wanted Rachel to understand that the things she’s been wanting – attention, interaction, and a voice – those are normal to want in a relationship. It’s just up to her to decide if she can embrace that.
Danielle and Eric just hugged each other into oblivion when they returned home. Eric told her how he would actually go dancing with her, which made Danielle extremely happy, since Eric didn’t even dance at their wedding. Then…they did married stuff, because Eric missed her A Lot. Later they also went out to eat. Danielle told Eric how great she and CW got along, since they had the same work ethic. Eric felt kind of worried because of how highly she spoke of CW and how they connected. I don’t blame him; they did seem a bit too close.
The experts visit and talk to them, where they assigned them to begin discussing their 5-year plan for their relationship.
Houston and Aleshia kept kissing when they got back together. During their discussion, Aleshia told Houston about how Neal gave her a rose and champagne and stuff – she even told him about them being in one bed! The more details she revealed, the more offended he was. When he talked to the cameras, he admitted that he felt she talked too much about Neal. On one hand I get why he’s jealous, but then I remember the time he joked about “the grass being greener on the other side,” and I don’t feel so bad for him anymore.
When the experts visit them, they ask them to try to make more of an effort to bring their worlds together a bit and work on communication.
Leah and Neal were actually anxious to see each other! When they saw each other, they actually had a genuine hug! How sweet….and surprising for them! Leah showed him her tattoos and they talked a little bit about their experiment experiences. Then Leah finally brought up the kid situation. They both agreed that him wanting kids changes some stuff, but they need to work on their marriage first. They prayed together that night and slept in the same bed! What’s really going on?!
They learned from the experts that effective communication is key. They also learned that they need to work on themselves individually and then work on the marriage and them as a unit.
Next time on Seven Year Switch, we will see the couples’ final decisions. Who do you think will make it?
