Only four episodes left of True Blood season 5. And last week’s episode of True Blood 2012 continued to bring the unexpected twists. It also left more characters possibly about to meet their makers. Whether or not this is a red herring to distract the viewers from seeing the real characters about to die is yet to be foreseen. But in Bon Temps, you never really know.

The faerie saga continued on True Blood season 5 as Sookie took one step closer to discovering who killed her parents. Hoyt and Jessica both found themselves in a dangerous situation as the crazy supernatural killers kidnapped Jessica and wanted Hoyt to kill her as revenge for his broken heart. Tara and Pam furthered their bond as Pam put one of Tara’s old enemies in her place. And Bill and Eric  dealt with the Lilth incident.

Once again, last week’s episode of True Blood season 5 furthered the storylines but didn’t really answers any questions. A lot more questions were added to the season. One of them dealt with why did Luna turn into Sam? Of course, Luna wasn’t the first person to turn into Sam. Last season, Sam’s brother, Tommy, transformed into him. This ultimately caused his demise.  So could Luna’s life being spared a couple weeks ago been a waste and she’s still a marked character? That seems a good possibility of where this storyline is heading. And does her transforming into Sam have some form of meaning we’ll discover later in True Blood 2012?

Another question from this week’s episode is where is Hoyt? After a kind of reconciliation with Jessica and saving her life, Hoyt went to get help and never returned.  Is Hoyt dead? Normally, I’d bet no, but after Roman’s death and the fact that Hoyt  is increasingly becoming a useless character, makes his death seem quite possible. I hope this is not the case, because I do still have a soft spot for the character, even if he’s not really important anymore and his death seems inevitable.

Of course, the two main questions presented on last week’s episode of True Blood season 5 are:

Who is this vampire that killed Sookie’s parents?

And

Has Bill completely joined the revolution of the vampires against humans?

The preview clip released this week shows that Sookie digs further into her past to find out who this vampire is that killed  her parents. From the clip it appears Lafayette has used his medium powers to talk to Sookie’s grandma. She, apparently, left them a clue that leads to the former sheriff, Bud Dearborne. From last week’s episode of True Blood season 5, it appears the vampire behind Sookie’s parents death is a completely new and unseen vampire, or is it?

The other preview clip shows Eric, again, is the only voice of reason and Bill is drinking the blood flavored koolaid too much. Eric seems baffled by Bill’s complete turn, but is it possible this is an act? Bill has never been the most independent free thinker but could he truly believe the madness everyone’s been spewing?

As the final weeks approach for True Blood season 5, the real question is can the show wrap up all these storylines and give a satisfying conclusion to the season? Guess we’ll have to stay tuned to find out….

Comments

  1. Does anyone still think that Salome is Lilith? because she change into Sookie, right in front of bill. Also, she keep trying to win both Bill and Eric affection, before roman died. Also, does anyone else feel that the blood that all the vampire drank was hers? because remember she stated that Bill wants to have something to believe in a Eric believe in himself. That is why i feel that Eric was didn’t see Lilith like everyone else. I wonder whats going to happen next.
