All The Right Moves 2012: Premiere Recap – Auditions Begin!

All The Right Moves 2012 may be my new favorite show on TV right now and I am saying that without an episode even airing yet. How can All The Right Moves on Oxygen go wrong? They have Travis WallTeddy ForanceNick Lazzarini and Kyle Robinson, all of whom impressed us on either So You Think You Can Dance or Dancing with the Stars. Now it is time for them to try and win us over as the four dancers, friends and roommates try to start-up their own dance company, called Shaping Sound.

Travis Wall came into our homes when he was a contestant on So You Think You Can Dance Season 2 and now he is making a name for himself, including Emmy nominations, as a choreographer on the same show that made him famous. Teddy Forance has been a dancer and choreographer on Dancing with the Stars. Nick Lazzarini was the winner of So You Think You Can Dance Season 1. Kyle Robinson has trained at Julliard and was recently featured on Dancing with the Stars. That seems like a big rap sheet of success for all four dancers and tonight they kick off their attempt to start their very own dance company on All The Right Moves 2012.

Tonight, the four friends kick off auditions for their new dance company, Shaping Sound. With the idea in hand, the four dancers not only need dancers, but they also need funding for their company. This show is going to be awesome, because it is a behind-the-scenes look at the dance world…I love it! Also, they will be bringing back-up dancers to the front of the stage as Shaping Sound comes together.

Nick, Teddy and Travis are at the top of their careers and have decided to start a dance company together called Shaping Sound. Teddy is apparently the lover of the group and he will find love wherever he is. As the three guys work on some moves, we get to meet the fourth guy, Kyle. It is funny because Kyle comments on how he is comfortable with his sexuality and flirts with Nick Lazzarini, who says that Kyle is his straight boyfriend and in his wildest dreams his real boyfriend…love it!

All four of the guys have known each other for so long and have been thinking of this company for two years now. Since they all seem comfortable with where they are now in their careers, so they want to focus on starting Shaping Sound. After seeing the boys dance their routine, they sit down to discuss the dance company and putting together a show where they can get some recognition for Shaping Sound.

Travis Wall said their first show will cost them around $20,000, so they need to find some money in order to pay for the show and their dancers. They will be holding auditions to find 20 dancers in L.A. that will complement their styles and help the company look better than they already are. Travis said he wants to hold a small showcase and he thinks things will snowball from there. He wants to see Shaping Sound in music videos, have an amazing theater and shoot this thing off the ground.

We get to see our first look at some drama on All The Right Moves 2012, as Travis says that everyone needs to audition for the company, including Kyle Robinson. This comes as a shock to Kyle, as Teddy Forance asked him to come out to L.A. to be in the company and now he has to audition? Teddy, Nick and Travis are the three creators of Shaping Sound and if you aren’t one of the three creators, you must audition. Kyle is trying to figure out what his place is in the group and Travis said there definitely is a place for him in the company, but he has to get there…oh girl!

Travis Wall heads over to Clear Talent Group to meet with his agents, who are huge in the dance industry. He sits down with his agents to discuss Shaping Sound and what the guys have planned for the new company and he wanted to get his agents perspective on the whole project. The agents suggest attaching his name to the company to give it more visibility, for instance Travis Wall’s Shaping Sound. Travis, in no way, wants to do that because the other boys would not let that one fly. They say they must push Travis Wall in order to keep pushing Shaping Sound…bring on the drama with the boys!

We now get to meet Travis Wall’s dancing partner, Jaimie Goodwin…it can’t be a show all about the boys now! They have been partners since they were 12 years old. They dated for about two years when they were 14 years old and dated until Travis realized he was gay. Jaimie said she can’t think of many things that were wrong with that relationship except for the whole gay thing! I think I am going to love Jaimie! She is doing some physical training for her knee, which she hurt before and is now back at it. She is hating the fact that she cannot dance at this crucial time for Shaping Sound.

After a long day, the boys head back to their house to unwind with some friends. They have dubbed their house as “The Manor” and Nick Lazzarini said it is a frat house, because they never clean it unless someone is coming over…they have photos as proof! Travis, Nick and Teddy talk about Jaimie and her being out, so they need to find a strong female lead to put in her place. They are also concerned about finding guys that are as strong as they are, because most of the guys they like to dance with are already working. And of course, they are concerned about the turnout!

The day has arrived…auditions for Shaping Sound on All The Right Moves on Oxygen! The boys have hundreds of people lined up, so the turnout is good. They are looking for a dance company of 20 dancers, so ten guys and ten girls. Since Travis Wall, Nick Lazzarini and Teddy Forance have three of the guy spots locked up, they are really looking for seven guys and ten girls.

They had some recognizable people come out for auditions, including Melanie Moore the winner of So You Think You Can Dance Season 8 and Allison Holker from SYTYCD Season 2. Jaimie shows up to be some support for the boys during their big day. Kyle Robinson is there as well, even though he is still surprised he has to audition, but he is being professional about it. Taja Riley also arrives and she hasn’t seen Travis since she got back from tour with Nicole Scherzinger. Travis thinks that Taja could be the perfect female lead for Shaping Sound. However, Teddy said they are both very stubborn and it is two queens in the room, so expect some drama where she is concerned!

Taja pulls Travis aside and says that she doesn’t feel that she should not be auditioning today. They all know how she dances and what she can bring to the table. She wants to be behind the table and helping them make decisions. Travis said he wants to show everyone else that is auditioning what she brings t the table and why she is there. She agrees to dance.

Teddy, Travis and Nick start teaching the dancers the routine that they need to learn for the audition. Jaimie is struggling because she can’t watch her friends dance and not want to get out there and dance with them. Travis tells her to keep her butt on the ground and not dance.

The guys gather all the headshots from the dancers and of course Taja Riley did not bring one, so she goes out and makes one from someone else’s…she writes on the picture that she is black though…too funny. Group one comes up and Taja said she loves the combination today and is almost okay with not being behind the table…almost! Kyle was not feeling comfortable with the routine today, but feels his style is worth making the company. The auditions end and they said they will get back with them all.

They are back at The Manor and Nick, Teddy and Travis meet to discuss the dancers. Kyle wants to be a part of the discussions, but he has to be left out. Taja Riley and Melanie Moore are definite yeses. They just shoot out some other names, which I have seen some on SYTYCD. They go up and tell Kyle that, shockingly, he has made Shaping Sound.

The next day Travis Wall calls all the dancers and invited them over for a party to celebrate the company and making it. Also, Travis has invited investors to the party in hopes of them investing some money in the company. Kyle is wondering how he is going to get paid. Then Travis said he can front the money for the first few rehearsals, which upsets Teddy and Nick because this is their company, not Travis’ company! Let the drama begin!

It is party time and the boys are arriving together. The dancers are all there and the investors are present as well. Teddy said their girls beam in the room and brighten it up and he is excited to dance with them…maybe some hookups? Nick Lazzarini is working it with the investors and inviting them to their preview showcase in hopes of them throwing down some money for Shaping Sound. Meanwhile, Teddy Forance is distracted by the girls and doing some flirting! Sometimes your penis thinks for you!

Travis Wall talks with Taja Riley about the company and the dances and she says that sometimes Travis cracks under pressure and he needs to try new things. Travis takes it as an attack on his choreography (which it so was) and he brushes off attacks because he doesn’t deal with it, but she is a dancer in your company…you shouldn’t have one of your own dancers attacking your choreography! It’s going to be some major drama between them all season.

It is a new day on All The Right Moves 2012 and they have one rehearsal to teach the dancers the routine for the investor preview! They work on the routine and Travis is loving the vibe in the room. Nick Lazzarini says that working with Travis is a bitch and he gets all frantic and crazed. Travis is going crazy and has Taja’s comments in the back of his head.

They transition to the routine real fast and they have quite a few investors there, which is great! The guys start the routine off and not gonna lie, this routine gave me some goose bumps! Taja Riley is an amazing dancer and they all looked so good together…I think they are going to be making some money tonight for Shaping Sound!

Everyone is mingling afterwards and Travis’ agents are talking to some possible investors and they wanted to know if this is someone’s vision and he said this is Travis’ dream, yes. His agent meets with Travis, Nick and Teddy and runs this across them and that Shaping Sound doesn’t have enough recognition out in the world and it might need to be Travis Wall’s Shaping Sound. Nick stands up and said it is all of there baby and he wants it to be successful, but with all three of their names attached to it, not just Travis’…you get it Nick! Teddy said he is completely shocked and doesn’t want to be behind anyone anymore and he is out if that is what happens! Find out next week how the boys work it out!
