True Blood Season 5 Spoilers: Episode 8 – Somebody That I Used to Know (VIDEOS)

Last week’s episode of True Blood season 5 was a bloody tripped out mess. All the vampires basically got super drunk on some ancient vampire blood then things got super trippy. It involved karaoke and a visit from the beloved maker, Godric.  And of course, the major reveal or revelation from last week’s episode of True Blood season 5 is Lilith is here!

The vampire goddess rose from a pool of blood to greet her loyal subjects. Most of the vampires were mesmerized, but then they went back to eat those pesky humans.

According to Nora and Salome, Lilth wants the vampires to take control of the humans. Though many were skeptical in the beginning, the minute they tasted her blood, they were all on board. After a visit from the spirit Godric, Eric was the only one to snap out of it and question it.  From obvious history, we know not to trust anything as ancient as a goddess on supernatural shows. The Bon Temp residents should have learned by now too. Do they not remember the last four years, at all!

As the True Blood season 5 episode trailer showed, there will be some more focus on Terry and his fire demon, some Jessica, & Hoyt stuff, supernatural haters drama, and even some more focus on Sam, Luna, Alcide storylines. But the main action will focus on the Authority, Bill & Eric, and Lilth’s Resurrection.  And the other major focus is Sookie and Jason’s vampire killed their parents, and Sookie’s faerie drama.

It appears Eric is still the only one that sees the vampires killing and controlling all the humans as bad. Bill has basically gotten on board completely. So seems like Bill and Eric will no longer will be wearing BFF bracelets. This kind of sucks, because if they can get over the fact that they’re both still in love with Sookie, a little return of a goddess shouldn’t end their bromance.

The short preview released for this episode of True Blood season 5 shows everyone is still tripping majorly on goddess blood, but Eric is no longer high and just thinks they’re weird. Join the club Eric. Join the club. He tries to talk to Bill about it, but Bill is just as high as the rest.

Can we take a moment and enjoy the Rev. Steve and Russell moment? Could they be the new vampire couple? I’d ship that.

Sookie and her drama!  The evolution of Jason on True Blood season 5 has been nice this season, but we’ll see where the writers are going with this new vampires killed their parents storyline. I kind of have a feeling if Russell didn’t kill them, Bill might have killed Sookie’s parents, just to drive a complete knife in the heart of the Bill and Sookie supporters (aka me). But for now, we have no clue who killed Sookie and Jason’s parents, but with the help of the faeries, Sookie may find out.

This clip and the trailer emphasizes that Sookie no longer wants to live. All the power usage was in a plow to become human, which is technically not an attempt at suicide, but considering that almost daily she is attacked, she’d be dead within a week without powers. Luckily, her nice new faerie friends are going to help her discover the truth about her parents’ death. The clip shows them agreeing to help her, though it’s against their beliefs.

Suspicious…..am I the only one that doesn’t completely trust these faeries and thinks it might be a trick to completely turn Sookie against vampires? Because I don’t know….a war is coming between vampires and humans!

So on a scale of one to ten how much do you think Bill is the killer of Sookie’s parents? I’d vote a five for now…..Bill’s maker, Lorena, might also be the culprit.

Do you trust the faeries? And do you believe vampires really killed Jason and Sookie’s parents?

And how annoyed are you with all the supporting characters storylines? And who’s do you find most annoying? Andy’s storyline is my pick for most unnecessary storyline this season. Tara and Pam’s storyline is actually interesting. Hoyt and Jessica’s has potential. The rest can stop. Please, stop.

This episode also marks the directorial debut of Stephen Moyer.

Comments

  1. I am sick of Terri and Patrick, that storyline is sooooo freakin boring.

    • I agree. Today was touch to sit through. To many bad storyline and not enough focus on the one that could be good

  2. Ditto Kris. If we took the ‘best’ of each episode so far there wouldn’t be enough to hold our attention for one hour.

  3. Roxanne says:

I think that Eric and Sookie should end up together. He can turn her and be done that way everyone does have to keep saving her, but with her luck they still will need to

  4. I’m really enjoying this series! Although at first I was quite annoyed at how much they deviated from the books, I quite like it now. It gives the show a lot of suspense and never fails to leave me wondering what will happen next – also, thankfully Alexei and Appius Livius won’t be able to make an appearance as Eric’s maker and brother, hurrah! I hated that book. I do wish Claudine and Claude had featured as they do in the book, I really liked Claudine.
I hope it isn’t Bill who killed Sookie’s parents, I hope it IS just a plot by the fae to drive a wedge between Sookie and the vampires. Loving the assassination plot against the supernatural, will be great to see where that goes especially now Hoyt’s involved. Loving Tara being a vampire too – I’m glad Pam’s starting to take to her a bit more!

  5. Alesha Stiles says:

I am enjoying season five so far, but as a huge fan of the books I think they have veered a little far from the original material. I think that the plot should go back to the books. I want to see weretigers and The king of the Fae (Sookie’s great great grandfather.) Oh! and what happened to Claude?! Did they director even read the character descriptions?!? He is suppose to be a super hot stripper with rippling muscles, not a skinny twink wanna be.

  6. Wow, Season 5 really sucks this year. What the hell happened. Every episode has been either boring or completely out there. I am so close to giving up. If something does not improve soon, I won’t bother tuning in next year.

  7. I know Eric and Sookie had their problems in the books but wow she dumped him before she gave him a chance
