The season 3 premiere of Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots began with a bang – literally! The hour-long episode packed in new romances, affairs, violence, tons of alcohol, and of course a single gunshot. Although mystery still looms even from last season, Tyler Perry left The Haves and the Have Nots fans on the edge of their seats, with even more questions still yet to be answered.
But first, I’d suggest that you take the time to read Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots 2015 Spoilers: Season 3 Premiere Sneak Peak (VIDEO); it’ll get you in the mood for “The Power Dance.”
Now for the good stuff!
The episode starts off where last season left off: with the gunshot. Startled out of his sleep by the sound, Wyatt Cryer gets up, checks his room, and then ventures out into the other rooms of the house hoping to figure out the origin of the noise. After finding both Katheryn and Amanda Cryer sleeping peacefully in bed, he goes downstairs and discovers the door is cracked. He doesn’t find anything mysterious, other than his father, Jim Cryer’s, cellphone lying on the ground, so he picks it up and goes back inside. He goes to his father’s office, but realizes he’s not in the house at all. Remember, Wyatt doesn’t know that his dad was kidnapped by Candice Young’s goons at the end of season 2 of The Haves and the Have Nots.
Wyatt, still battling an alcohol and drug addiction, decides to relax on the couch with some liquor. After breaking his dad’s pass code to his phone, he discovers text conversations between Jim and Candice and Jim and Celine, one of their maids. Assuming the worst, Wyatt gets upset and continues to drink heavily.
Meanwhile, Hanna Young was throwing a party for her son and one of Wyatt’s drunken driving victims, Benny Young, who is now home from the hospital after making a full recovery. Michael, whose granddaughter, the second victim of Wyatt’s actions and the fatality that landed him in that huge mess last season, was also in attendance at the party. After a few drinks, both Michael and Hanna are getting a bit flirty with each other, which Benny happens to notice and does not like at all. After Michael leaves, Benny tells Hanna that he doesn’t like Michael, but she brushes him off and keeps enjoying the party.
Also in attendance was Candice, who still won’t talk to her mother. Benny approaches her and asks her to try to reconcile and to persuade her that it’ll be safer if she stayed at their house for the night, but she wasn’t hearing it. She was too busy trying to figure out how to make Jim pay! She told Benny about “someone” was kidnapped by Jim’s goons and they tried to kill the person, which is why the Cryers are such terrible people. However, Benny informs her that Katheryn Cryer was the one who moved him to the hospital that is responsible for his recovery, much to Candice’s surprise.
The episode then switches to David Harrington and Maggie Day, who were about to commit adultery! However, David is too faithful of a man to sleep with Maggie; he have a little bit of alcohol in his system simply to kiss her.
Finally, we get to see a now kidnapped Judge Jim Cryer in the basement. He’s telling Candice’s friend, War that they won’t get away with this because he’s a judge and whatnot….he must have forgotten who Candice is. She doesn’t care! She’s probably happy that he’s a local celebrity; gives her more street cred! She wanted him to see how she felt when he did this exact same thing to her. Besides, they have him in a basement in the hood. Ain’t nobody trying to think about finding a judge in the hood! We’ll see how he gets out of this one!
Back at the party, Hanna and Michael are in the house. By this point, Michael is super drunk, so Hanna lets him sleep it off in her bed. Again, Benny doesn’t like it. He also takes the opportunity to talk to his mother about talking to Candice, but she brushes that one off too.
Then Byron, the cop that Jim hired to keep tabs on Hanna, shows up at the party. Hanna doesn’t hesitate to confront him about him deceiving her. He admits to her that yes, he was hired by Jim to keep watch over her, but he wound up catching feelings and wanted to make things right. Hanna wasn’t trying to hear that; she tells an obviously hurt and disappointed Byron to leave, and he does.
Back at the hotel, David and Maggie are still attempting to get this affair rolling. But before things go to far, David stops the whole charade and explains to Maggie how, although Veronica has her crazy moments, he loves her very much and couldn’t do this her.
Although everyone breathes a sign of relief that David didn’t go through with it, things are about to boil over at the Harrington house!
While David was fighting temptation at the hotel, Veronica Harrington was getting more and more angry because David wasn’t returning her calls. She was getting ready to go to find David when she smelled none other than the infamous Quincy, who somehow got into her house again! Quincy grabbed Veronica by the neck and began to attempt to rape her. However, gangstress Veronica started calling out names of his family members – family members she would kill if he didn’t stop messing with her. He let her go, but assured her that they would see each other again.
The Haves and the Have Nots then focuses back on Candice, who has decided to stay with Benny and Hanna – or so she says. She goes into the bedroom as if she’s going to go to bed, but instead piles up a bunch of blankets and pillows to make it look like she’s in bed and then sneaks out of the window.
The episode ends at the hotel. David and Maggie are still in the hotel room when Veronica, still a bit shaken up by the run-in with Quincy, shows up. David is still explaining to Maggie his feelings for is wife and how this is all wrong, Veronica is at David’s room, knocking on the door. She calls his phone one more time and hears it ringing inside the room. She then calls concierge and tells them that she accidentally locked herself out and needs assistance.
There, my friends, is the end of the season premiere of The Haves and the Have Nots!
Now, I’m sure everyone is still wondering:
- What will happen to Jim?
- Will Hanna give Byron or Michael a chance?
- Is Benny right for keeping a close eye on Michael?
- What will Veronica see when she enters the hotel room?
- Who got shot?!
What did you guys think about the episode? Do you think you know who got shot?
