Tonight is a special two-hour finale of Hell’s Kitchen season 13 and at the end we will find out who will win a head chef position at Gordon Ramsay’s Pub and Grill at Caesars Palace in Atlantic City! First, the remaining chefs will compete in a “Taste It, Now Make It” challenge and the winner will have a chance to spend some time with family while the others prepare for the 200th dinner service in Hell’s Kitchen!
We start tonight’s episode of Hell’s Kitchen season 13 starts off with Chef Ramsay calling the final four chefs down to the kitchen for a new challenge. First, Chef Ramsay gives them a brief chat with their loved ones via video chat, such an emotional ting to go through but it is also very motivational! Then the are face to face with their loved ones and it gets even more emotional right before the challenge is announced!
They all get a moment to talk to their loved ones and then Ramsay tells them that it is time to say good-bye to their families because it is time to get to work! Today’s challenge is taste it, now make it and the chefs have to taste the dishes and then replicate them as close as possible and whoever comes the closest will get to spend the day with their families!
Jennifer and Sade think it’s rabbit, but La Tasha thinks that it is pheasant and Bryant thinks that it is turkey. They have all picked couscous as their starch but the sauce has them thrown off. Jennifer thinks the sauce is sun-dried tomato and so does La Tasha, but Bryant and Sade are going with cherries.
All of the dishes look great, I can’t wait to see who wins this challenge! Chef starts with Sade, he plate is a bit of a mess, but he seems to be intrigued. Chef seems to like them all, but the question is, who has the ingredients right? The protein in the dish was rabbit, which leaves the race up to Jennifer and Sade.
The couscous was correct, but Jennifer used sun-dried tomatoes and Sade used cherries in her dish. Who was right? We will find out after the commercial! The winner of this challenge is Jennifer and she will be spending the day with her fiance and kids! She is so happy, then Chef Ramsay tells her that she is going to be arriving in a Ferrari to the restaurant her and her family will be eating at.
The rest of the chefs will be doing prep work for the 200th dinner service at Hell’s Kitchen and cleaning the dorms out of all the beds, kitchen equipment and everything else! Bryant is getting annoyed with working with the ladies and then they head down to the dining room to do the tedious tasks asked of them.
Now it is time for the dinner service and the chefs are all told that they will all have a turn running the pass and they will be in charge of quality control and making sure food gets out. After this dinner service, two of the remaining chefs will be sent home and the other two will be going into the final, who will they final two be?
The first chef to take over the pass is Sade and Chef Andi is taking over on the line. Her first issue is the chicken coming out of Jennifer’s station, but it is still raw and then when it is sent up it is burnt and sent back. Sade’s first test is Andi using clams instead of mussels in the capollini. The next issue she has is actor Ricky Schroder ordered pork, but they aren’t serving that.
The next chef at the pass is La Tasha and she seems really comfortable up there, but now Andi is serving sea bass instead of halibut. La Tasha doesn’t catch the sabotage though, not a good look. The rest of the time at the pass is pretty smooth aside from Bryant having some issues with the garnish for the dish.
The next chef at the pass is Jennifer and she starts off with Sade not communicating with her and then Bryant isn’t communicating either. Then it is time for the sabotage, the beef wellington is missing something and Jennifer doesn’t catch it! Jennifer bounces back really well and keeps food going out steadily.
Bryant’s turn is now and he is super paranoid, he thinks that his quality control test is the halibut, but it’s the cauliflower puree that is not what it seems. He catches it before attempting to serve it, does that mean that Sade and Bryant will move on to the finale because they were the only ones to catch their sabotages? We are about to find out!
Dinner service went so well that Chef said that sending two of them home is going to be painful for him. The first person not going through to the finals is Jennifer, but Chef gives her some great words of encouragement. The first person going on to the final is La Tasha and Bryant will be joining her!
That means that Sade’s time on Hell’s Kitchen season 13 has ended, but she will be getting a call from his office in London to discuss job opportunities in Gordon Ramsay Grill! Are you ready for the finals? I know I am!
The second hour of Hell’s Kitchen season 13 started with a look on the chef’s journeys to the finals. Then after a brief celebration, the chef’s start planning their menus! The finalists get a day of relaxation in Palm Springs and then head back to Los Angeles to get back to work, but when they get there, they are told that their car isn’t available. They go into the building to be surprised by a live crowd and the finale starts now!
They are told that they have one hour to create five stunning dishes and they are going to be cooking in front of this live crowd. They have one cold appetizer, one hot appetizer and three entrees, one beef, one chicken and one fish dish to create! Now it is time to find out who wins and who will be able to start picking their teams first!
The first dish is judged by Randy Lutz and he will be scoring the dish from 1-10, along with the other judges. La Tasha gets an 8 on her first dish and Bryant gets a 7. The next judge is Josiah Citrin and he gives La Tasha a 8 and Bryant a 9, which ties them at 16! The fish entree is up next and La Tasha gets a 7 and Bryant gets a 8 which puts him in the lead.
The next dish is the chicken dish and La Tasha gets the first 10 challenge and Bryant gets a 7 and the final course is the beef course! Bryant’s is tasted first and is given an 8 on his dish, La Tasha needs a 7 to win! La Tasha gets a 9! She wins the challenge and gets first pick of her brigade!
She chooses Sade, Bryant picks Jennifer. La Tasha picks Roe next and Bryant picks Sterling, La Tasha picks Fernando third and Bryant goes with Santos and La Tasha’s final pick is Ashley and that leaves Frank to go to Bryant’s team! La Tasha has a lot of garnishes and puts them all on Sade, her team is trying to make suggestions, but she isn’t hearing any of it. Bryant on the other hand is taking everything into consideration.
It is now time to get Chef’s approval on their menu and Bryant is getting great reviews on his dishes, but La Tasha, not so much. She is starting to second guess all of her dishes, maybe she should have listened to her team? After some final tweaks on their menus, it is showtime! They are now starting their dinner service!
La Tasha and the red team are working pretty smooth, except for a minor issue with a scallop and Frank is not working well on Bryant’s team. Fernando is having timing issues with the scallops in the red kitchen, but they have appetizers walking out of the kitchen. The blue kitchen hasn’t served any yet and Frank seems to be the anchor pulling them down.
Bryant makes a change in his kitchen and move Frank to garnish and puts Sterling on hot appetizers, meanwhile, the red team is starting entrees already. Fernando is still having major issues on fish station and he is being accused by Chef Ramsay of trying to sabotage La Tasha, what do you think?
Fernando told La Tasha that it was going to take six minutes, but it shouldn’t take that long, he’s going to burn it and now Sade’s timing is off too. They are able to recover and get some entrees out and the diners are excited and happy with their meals. Back in the blue team, Sterling is a one man team for Bryant right now, he is getting everything on track on his own!
Red kitchen, the salmon is raw, so Roe is sent to work the fish station and Fernando is moved out of there, a little late, but better late than never. The blue kitchen is in need of a miracle, but the red kitchen is rolling now that Roe is on fish! The red kitchen is so much better than the blue kitchen tonight and I think that without a doubt La Tasha is going to win tonight!
In the blue kitchen, Frank is still being an anchor and Bryant is getting really aggravated with it and kicks him out of the kitchen and puts Sterling in charge of that station! Best. Decision. Ever! After dinner service wraps up, the chef head upstairs to wait for Chef Ramsay to make is decision. The phone rings, it is time to find out the winner of Hell’s Kitchen season 13!
The winner of Hell’s Kitchen season 13 is La Tasha McCutchen!!!!
