When you write songs, you write them about your experiences, other peoples experiences, etc. When they wrote this song, they knew what it was about, and so should you all. I agree with Yas, I strongly disbelieve she made this song with him in mind, I just think that y’all wish she did, so you could have something to talk about. I personally would like for them to get back together though, because when they were together they seemed so in love and so happy with each other… but I love the song, I think it’s classic Rihanna, and I can’t wait for the CD to come out in November.

It’s interesting the assumption here that the article is saying the song was written about Chris Brown. In reading it again, it seems pretty clear the article is saying the lyrics of the song evoke the history of Rihanna’s relationship with Chris Brown. In other words, hearing or reading the lyrics – the reader/listener can’t seem to help thinking about the Chris Brown assault on Rihanna because of the underlying violence of the song’s lyrics and the he/she imagery. So yes, the song may just be a random song, but because Rihanna sang it after being the victim of physical violence – it’s hard not to think about Brown’s assault on her – if you are aware of the story – when listening to it.

I do have to admit that i’m not a huge fan of the song tho. I mean it’s not horrible and i think it’s an ok track to be on the album but i’m hoping it’s not reflecting the tone of the rest of the album cause i don’t think i could buy it…too dark – almost depressing!

Well if you follow that logic that means that Unfaithful was written about her relationship with Chris! Give me a break! You’re really reaching on this one. The song is just a song….let her past be her past! She’s trying to move on and so is he stop making everything they do about that relationship. Geesh!
