Parenthood 2014 says farewell tonight for its winter break. Tonight’s Parenthood Season 6 Spoilers are wrought with drama, as Sarah Braverman‘s ex comes back, and Joel fights for Julia. Then there’s Zeek’s health scare. Yikes! Here’s tonight’s recap of Parenthood 2014, the final season.
Tonight’s Parenthood 2014 starts out with Kristina leading the kids at the school in some Roman play with toga-like garb. Dylan comes in to interrupt, stressing how important it is that they talk. She can’t work with Max anymore. Everyone is talking at once, so Kristina goes back to play practice. Max shows up to bug Dylan about carrying her books. And so it goes on . . .
Meanwhile, Ruby is stoked that she was chosen to be in the school performance of Grease. At Hank‘s, she calls her mom to share the news. Sarah offers to run lines with her and can’t wait to see her perform. And it looks like Hank didn’t reserve a seat for Sarah with the ex. Oops–better call her back.
Drew picks up Grandpa Zeek for a ride in the cool car, while Camille worries that they’re going out for burgers. Yeah, they probably are.
Boyfriend Chris shows up at Julia’s office to make a dinner date. Julia shares that she has lunch with Joel the next day He’s been pushing for it, and she wants to help him get closure. And she will tell him they have to sign the papers. Noooooo!!!
Drew and Zeek don’t head for the drive-thru, but for Drew’s dorm. Zeek has his grandson trying to find some little restaurant in the south of France that he and Camille went to back in the day. He wants to take her there for their anniversary for steak and red wine but can’t think of the name.
At the play, there he is! Sarah’s ex, Mark, who introduces the play since the drama teacher is sick. Hank’s ex (I always forget her name) points out how hot that English teacher is. Yep, he’s a hottie.
Kristina hosts an open house at the school. Max draws equations and stuff on a dry erase board to try to prove to Dylan his affection for her. Max tries to show his physical affection by awkwardly reaching out to touch her. She freaks out and yells. Mom and the crowd walk by. Not good.
Cutie Mark, meanwhile ogles at Sarah. Hank shares with ex that Sarah had dated the hottie. Sarah stares at Mark with a soft look in her eyes. At least, it seems that way.
Kristina’s Open House goes amok when Dylan’s parents accuse her of allowing Max harass their daughter, Dylan. The yelling gets everyone’s attention, as the room goes quiet. Here comes Adam to save the day. They just don’t understand the situation; he calls them “absentee parents.” Woah! They only see Max’s side, say the parents. They take Dylan and leave, as Max looks on.
Another day, and Drew goes by to pick up Grandpa again. Camille calls him in for “cookies,” but she really wants to know what’s going on. Is he jeopardizing his health? Can he fly, asks Drew. Whaaat? Camille doesn’t know what to think about that. He’ll explain later, says Zeek, when he comes down to see the worrisome look on his wife’s face.
So Sarah suggests to Hank that maybe she shouldn’t go to the show the next night, that maybe it’s just a family thing. He wants her in his daughter’s life. Is it really about Mark? Hank wants to know. He’s learning to communicate, and the issue is important to him. Sarah says it brings up a lot to see Mark, but she doesn’t wish that things were different. And she wants to go since it’s important to Hank. Good communication there, Hank!
Lunch time for Julia and Joel. At the restaurant of their first date, no less. And the waiter who knows them. Joel reminisces about old times, pulling out all the stops. He reminds her of their dreams, how they wanted to be an incredible team–and they were. He admits that he was wrong. He was the one who walked out. The vow that he took when they married–he failed. Now he feels shameful. His tears seem to be getting to Julia. He loves her, will honor her forever, and wants her back. Julia, visibly shaken at this unexpected confession, can’t speak except to say she has to leave.
Dylan’s back, talking to Kristina, who admits that she should have protected her more from Max. Dylan cries, saying that her parents want to put her in a different school. Her parents won’t listen, Dylan says. This is the first school that has ever helped her. Dylan continues to cry and hugs Kristina.
Zeek found the matchbook to the Bed & Breakfast where he and Camille stayed in France. They find the restaurant: Chez Marie. Let’s book the reservation! Drew says he can’t, because Camille knows about his wanting to fly. How could he lie to Grandma? Zeek is upset because he trusted Drew and tells him he let him down.
Back at work, Chris ask Julia how lunch went. Harder than she thought, but she still plans to sign the divorce papers. Chris wants more, and she wants more time. He wants to talk. She doesn’t. And it’s not that simple. Okay, fine. Pressure is off, Chris says, and walks out. Uh-oh. Trouble in non-Paradise.
Adam and Kristina tag team to deal with an upset Max. They refer back to the number scale of caring about someone and relate it back to Dylan. Basically, he needs to respect Dylan’s wishes. Max asks if Dylan is leaving the school because of him.
Ruby’s parents and Sarah talk outside the play about how well Ruby is doing. English teacher hottie Mark comes out. He’s just subbing for the drama teacher–a last minute kind of thing. He shares that the girl who originally had Ruby’s part is feeling better, so Ruby is demoted to the chorus. She’s really upset.
Julia runs to Mom, sharing that she “couldn’t cut the cord with Joel” and ruined things with Chris. She tells Mom that Joel wants to reconcile. Julia took so long to be okay without Joel. He’s the one who gave up. Camille says yeah, he screwed up. He was weak, says Julia. She needed him. What marriage is about, says Mom, is forgiveness. Julia doesn’t think she can forgive him. Oh, Julia. Parenthood 2014 is breaking my heart again!
Sarah and Mark catch up about the kids–Amber’s pregnancy, Drew at college . . . . But don’t call Sarah the G (grandma) word! They joke, laugh, and Mark shares that he’s having a baby, too. They share with each other that they are glad they knew each other. Hank walks up, and they say their goodbyes. Both Sarah and Mark were a little teary-eyed there.
Zeek makes it home to a not-so-happy-looking wife. He’s tried of being “treated like an invalid.” Where would he fly, asks the wife. So he shares his plan. Camille is touched and says they could go after the doctor clears him. Zeek shows her the pictures, how the place hasn’t changed. She’s about to cry, while he smiles and laughs.
Things seem a bit awkward with Hank and Sarah, as they get back to Hank’s apartment. Is she happier now, asks Hank. He knows he has baggage, the daughter, the ex, and he knows he’s a weird guy. Would she have a simpler life if she had chosen Mark? Is Hank really what she wants? No answer to that question, as Ruby and her daughter burst in.
Adam and Kristina visit Dylan’s parents, apologizing that they didn’t address Dylan’s needs sooner. Max wants to apologize to Dylan. He does, saying that he will stay away from her if she comes back to Chambers Academy. Dylan’s parents say yes for now! Yay! Dylan shakes “Asperger’s” hand. The parents freak when she calls him that, but Max states that it’s a term of endearment and he “takes no offense.”
After Ruby settles down, Hank rattles on about it, as Sarah watches him. There’s that soft look in her eyes again. Yeah, she’s happy, she says, and there’s nowhere else she wants to be.
Julia shows up at Joel’s place–with the divorce papers. They need to sign; they need to follow-through. She signs them and offers up the pen. He can’t do it. Stares, teary eyes, and suddenly they are kissing. Man, that’s intense. She cradles his face and stares. And they go back to making out on the couch. Yay!
Meanwhile, Zeek wakes up, calling for Camille to call an ambulance. Dang, he does not look good. Parenthood 2014 Season 6 spoilers hint that a Braverman dies this farewell season. Will Zeek be the one?
