CBS Mocks ABC With New Show ‘Dancing On The Stars’

The fight between ABC and CBS is not over, as the battle continues between The Glass House 2012 and Big Brother 2012. CBS put a new twist on the battle and threw some humor into it as well. With the thought that The Glass House TV show is a rip-off of Big Brother 2012, CBS sent out a press release announcing their newest reality TV show. The “new show” from CBS will be called, Dancing On The Stars! Hmmm…sounds familiar?

In the CBS press release, they say the new show “will be broadcast live from the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and will feature moderately famous and sort of well-known people you almost recognize competing for big prizes by dancing on the graves of some of Hollywood’s most iconic and well-beloved stars of stage and screen.”

This is hilarious and to see it come from a network television channel makes it even better. Now, I did watch The Glass House ABC and it is very similar to Big Brother CBS, but it doesn’t hold a candle to what CBS has done with the show. Drama or no drama, just keep doing your thing CBS with Big Brother 2012 and you’ll be fine…you have a following no one is going to touch, but still, this press release made me giggle!

The press release for Dancing On The Stars goes on to say, “Given the current creative and legal environment in the reality programming business, we’re sure nobody will have any problem with this title or our upcoming half-hour comedy for primetime, POSTMODERN FAMILY.” Bitchy? Yes. Hysterical? Oh yes!

To end the press release, CBS said, “After all, people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.” Oh snap, they brought out the big dogs with that one and I LOVE it. I think the whole court battle has been ridiculous, but this press release makes me like CBS a little bit more…don’t you agree?

Here is a look at the complete press release:

  1. I think they way CBS reacted to Glass House was hilarious. I like Big Brother and prefer it over Glass House, but I still liked the new show. I am excited for Big Brother to show again, but in the meantime, I will still watch Glass House.
