Another special night and time for Duets TV Show 2012 on ABC, as the Superstars (Robin Thicke, John Legend, Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Nettles) join their Duets 2012 partners onstage and take on songs from the movies. We are down to just six singers on Duets TV Show 2012 and next week, the voting goes from the Superstars to America, as Duets TV Show 2012 goes live!
With songs from movies, the amateur singers have a very long list of songs that they can choose from on Duets TV Show 2012, so I am super excited to see what they come up with tonight on Duets 2012. Robin Thicke and John Legend have each lost one singer so far on Duets TV Show 2012, so will it be Kelly Clarkson or Jennifer Nettles saying goodbye tonight on Duets 2012? Let’s get this party started tonight on Duets TV Show 2012!
Up first tonight is John Glosson, as he joins Jennifer Nettles to sing “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion from Titantic. Jennifer and John work on the arrangement very much, so let’s see what they come up with. I think John and Jennifer blend together very well, but I wasn’t feeling it on this song. I don’t know if it is the velour suit Jennifer is wearing that distracted me, but I was a little bored during this. Do any of you agree? Kelly Clarkson said you are a guy and it will sound different…you all compliment each other so well. Robin Thicke said you sing from you heart and you have a beautiful voice and you look like you’ve been singing together for 10 years. John Legend said that was really beautiful and your voice sounds gorgeous up there. The standings after one singer: John Glosson!
Next up is Team Kelly and Jordan Meredith takes the stage with Kelly Clarkson. Jordan’s parents join her in the rehearsal studio, so that was nice to see. This week they will be singing “Take My Breath Away” by Berlin from Top Gun. She didn’t come out barefoot tonight, but I am loving the pink curls on Jordan tonight…anyone agree? It was a good performance, but I am uninspired so far tonight…they are letting me down so far. Robin said he expects her to bring that sexiness and he missed those moments in the song where she had those moments where she did have her breath taken away. Jennifer said I love what you did to make it your own…I could feel the country twang to it. John said your voices sound super nice together…you were a little nervous at the beginning. New standings: John Glosson and Jordan Meredith.
Next up is Olivia Chisholm, who was in the bottom two last week. Her and Robin Thicke will be singing “Stayin’ Alive” by The Bee Gees from Saturday Night Fever. I think Robin picks terrible songs for his Duets 2012 partners. This song so fits his voice, but does it fit Olivia’s? It is fun and upbeat, but I think Olivia shines on a slow ballad…work to her strengths not your own Robin! John said the dancing and you all look really good up there tonight. Kelly said it is my favorite of you. Jennifer said you did great and I love the song choice for you. New standings: John Glosson, Olivia Chisholm and Jordan Meredith.
Next up on Duets TV Show 2012 is Bridget Carrington, who came in second last week and they are aiming for #1 this week. Her and John Legend will be singing “What’s Love Got To Do With It” by Tina Turner! I think this is a perfect song choice for Bridget…good job John. Work that fringe, Bridget! Bridget has a great voice and she is so comfortable on the stage. Her and John are great Duets 2012 partners. Kelly Clarkson said that song doesn’t go anywhere for me…not a very hard to sing, but I was very entertained. Jennifer Nettles said I am going to give you a yes, ma’am…I was watching it and I forgot I was supposed to be judging…perfect song for you. Robin Thicke said you have this amazing spirit…you were sensual and electric. New standings: John Glosson, Bridget Carrington, Olivia Chisholm and Jordan Meredith.
Next are J Rome and Jennifer Nettles on Duets TV Show 2012, as they take on Whitney Houston. He is singing “I Will Always Love You” from The Bodyguard. Will taking on a Whitney song hurt him? It may be Whitney and he may be a guy, but J Rome worked the crap out of this song. They were awesome together and J Rome just cemented his frontrunner status yet again…where did that run just come from J Rome??? He said this is the biggest moment of his life. Kelly Clarkson said you are so good…I love you. Robin Thicke said there is a reason you have been #1 every week…when you sang that song you gave me the feeling you were in love with Jennifer. John Legend said that performance was beautiful…it was really awesome. New Duets 2012 standings: J Rome, John Glosson, Bridget Carrington, Olivia Chisholm and Jordan Meredith.
Last Duets TV Show 2012 performance of the night is from Jason Farol and Kelly Clarkson from Team Kelly. Tonight, they will be singing “Come What May” from Moulin Rouge. First of all, I think he borrowed Jennifer Nettle’s velour jacket for his performance. Second thing, I am not a fan of this song choice. We saw a new side of Jason last week and I liked it. He did start slow, but he ended with some strong vocals. Robin said you look like a young Hugh Hefner and as soon as America starts to vote you are a danger…I didn’t get to hear your tone in that song. Jennifer said it looked great and I can see potential you can have in musical theater. John said I think you looked great together, but most of the song was too low for you.
Final standings for Duets TV Show 2012 tonight are:
- J Rome
- John Glosson
- Bridget Carrington
- Olivia Chisholm
- Jordan Meredith
- Jason Farol
So, we have Team Kelly in the bottom two tonight, so Kelly Clarkson will be losing one of her Duets 2012 singers tonight…which one will it be? Now to sing for their lives…up first is Jason Farol as he sings “Mama Knows Best.” He had a different tone to his voice for this song and I liked it. It is time for Jordan Meredith, as she sings “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.” I think Jordan worked it out and sounded great and I think she will be moving on. Some final words from the Superstars and then we find out who is headed home. The singer leaving us tonight is….Jordan Meredith! Our Top 5 for Duets TV Show 2012 are J Rome, John Glosson, Bridget Carrington, Olivia Chisholm and Jason Farol! What do you think?

Is John Legend taskmaster of this show? Not sure if contestants are scored on their improvement or on John’s standards…
This show has me hooked ! I was initially hooked on the new talent aspect of the show. There is a great deal of that. However, now from week to week I am enthralled into wanting to know what Mr. Rome and Ms. Jennifer is coming up with next ! I mean Mr. Thicke, Ms. Clarkson and Mr. Legend are holding their own…but they cannot touch the “Duets” by the Rome and Nettles connection, Im sorry.
I think they bring out the best in each other …each week ! I never liked idol or voices, I was rather fond of the Sing Off….but this show…Man….I love it ! I am a believer.
J Rome should and will take this all the way he is amazing and talented!
I think Jennifer should consider doing a cd with John it would be ausome. They sound great together and it would be a shame when the show ends to never hear them perform together. I am really enjoying the show I look forward to seeing it every week. I hope they produce more shows when this one is done.
I would like to see them go to a larger theater when they go live. They have the smallest audience of the singing competitions. Doesn”t have to a lot larger, but they could use more audience to up the excitement.
They do have the problem that the eliminations can lead to a star without a singer so I think they had to rig things in that regard so that each judge retained a performer. With the Voice they are eliminating by teams all the way to the final four so that no one can possibly be without a team. Although that does mean that you can have better singers getting eliminated because of which team they are on.
J. Rome brings his A game each week and he did Whitney proud!. Jordan did not deserve to go home and if we can vote someone OFF the show, Jason will be the first to go. He is not that cute, he’s not professional. When he opens his mouth, he has a voice, but we haven’t seen much of that.
We watch so many talent competitions and tend to be bias based on the ones you like. The show itself is a great concept because it gives the non-starts a bust of confidence to be confident in their stage presents. It actually makes them sound better than they would if they were singing alone. I’m not going to rate each one because it’s evident who is #1. BUT, that could change in an instant.
I agree that the starts themselves are so versatile outside their own genre. This is good PR for them. I want to go out and buy music from each one of them now.
I love the show, yes there are some improvements needed but with everything else I’m sure it will be modified for next season.
We trukly enjoy the show and the discovery of true amatuer talent. However, what I really like is the fact that it shows that the coaches/judges are NOT one dimensional performers. Jennifer nettles, for instance, is known strictly as a counbtry music star, but on this show she has shown and proven that she can sing anything, any genre, any style and do it extremely well. That is one element of the show we truly enjoy. J.Rome and John Glosson will be the last two standing!
I always thought Jennifer nettles was a talented country singer but, I have to agree, she can do it all and do it very well.
Her team will take it all the way and so they should!
You go Team Jen!!!
I like the show but, have a comment about one of the judges. Although I’m not really a fan of many of the judges, I like them as people. However, Kelly Clarkson is a bit of a distraction for the show. In my opinion, of which I am entitled, she doesn’t pick talent very well, she seems to feel that she has to defend the constructive criticism that her partners receive from the other judges, and she’s not really good at song choice. It is a bit of an irritation to have her comment as if there is a conspiracy regarding her partners, when in actuality, she just didn’t pick strong singers!
I agree totally.
I agree that Kelly didn’t pick well. We got to see her last four choices and I think she chose the worst two of that group. I have a suspicion that she picked the performers who were the most starstruck by her. Or maybe she wanted less competion. The woman who tried out at the concert was singing that song better than Kelly. Jason was overcome at THE END of his concert tryout. No surprise that he has been very nervous on the show.
I think the judging has been quite poor. The set-up of the show is not conducive to honest judging since the judges would be smart to eliminate their greatest competition prior to public judging.
I really want to like this show (because of Kelly) but I find it too wishy washy. I don’t think the singers are all that great compared to other competition shows, and all I really find myself listening to are the artists singing. I feel the judging is too easily rigged in this competition (not like other shows don’t have that problem) but I think it’s even moreso here. Kelly’s 2 singers shouldn’t have been both in the bottom two, I won’t put who I thought should’ve been to save myself from trollers … but it just seemed strange and she seemed quite surprised and confused as to why they were both there. I don’t know, I love Kelly but I don’t think I can love this show.
I agree with Robin Thicke. J Rome has been #1 each week for a reason. He has been a star from the very beginning of the show. He just hadn’t been discovered. He’s no amateur. Dude got both showmanship, mad talent and he’s versatile and unique.
In my opinion, I believe Bridget Carrington to be #2. I love her confidence. I don’t know of any Star that doesn’t have the same confidence she has. She also has the look of a star…not to mention beautiful & sexy (man’s viewpoint), doesn’t hit a bad note and has great showmanship. Unfortunately, the only thing I can see keeping her from being #1 is she’s not unique as far as vocals.
I would rank John Glosson 3rd due to his confidence and every note is clean. He just doesn’t look like a star but his vocals say different. He just seems one dimensional.
Olivia would be my 4th option. If someone could work with her confidence, she’d be a star. She has the voice, definitely the look (them shiny legs particularly–agreeing with John Legend).
That places Jason Farol 5th. This kid has a great voice but lacks confidence and showman ship.
Bottom line is as long as J Rome is there, everybody else is 2nd. He is clearly the best vocalist with incredible range and has the best stage presence…in my opinion.
I liked Olivia’s performance. I thought the song fit her voice well and she did really good, I don’t know what the writer is talking about. My favorite tonight was John Glosson’s. Why wasn’t he number 1 instead of J Rome?
I haven’t been able to get into the show. I find it really boring.
