The show can go on! U.S. District Judge Gary Feess said on Friday that ABC can air its new reality competition series The Glass House 2012, even with all of CBS’ objections that the show copies it’s hit reality show, Big Brother, as I reported previously. Judge Feess said Friday that CBS did not prove it would be harmed if The Glass House 2012 aired. He said The Glass House 2012′s audience participation element is likely to make it different than Big Brother.
For The Glass House TV show, ABC has said contestants will have to curry audience popularity in order to succeed on the series. Judge Feess said: ”The audience involvement in particular in The Glass House is a constant role in this show as it proceeds. I think is very likely to induce quite different behavior than one would expect to see in the Big Brother show.”
This next part makes me laugh so hard about the fact that The Glass House 2012 case even made it to a federal judge. Judge Feess, who acknowledged he’s no fan of reality television, said he’s not convinced that The Glass House ABC will eat into the audience of Big Brother. ”Frankly I thought after the first or second reality shows on television, we would never see others,” Feess said. “Boy, was I wrong.” Control your laughter folks! The Glass House 2012 premieres on ABC Monday night at 10/9c.
