The Choice Dating Show 2012: Week 2 Recap

On tonight’s episode of the most manic dating show ever, The Choice dating show 2012, three celebrities, most people haven’t heard of, and singer Joe Jonas competed (or sat back and watched girls makes fools of themselves for dates) for dates.  The other three celebrity daters were actor and model Parker Young, LoveLine co-host Michael Catherwood, and skiing gold medalist Seth Wescott.

Tonight’s episode of The Choice dating show 2012 had more cringe worthy  moments than the series premiere as girls tried their hardest to standout and get picked. I guess most of these contestants haven’t had to rely on their personality to get dates before, because they just seemed lost trying to talk about why these celebrities should date them. So wondering what you missed on tonight’s episode of The Choice dating show 2012? Read on to find out.

For those that missed the series premiere of The Choice, here is how the show works:

The first round women stand on stage and they have to sell themselves, simply using their voice and what they can say in thirty seconds, then the men press their buttons and turn their chairs around if they want a date with the woman speaking.

By round two, each celebrity has three girls on their team. Then they have mini dates with each girl. The contestants and celebrities go back and forth asking one another questions. Then one girl is eliminated from each team.

The final round each woman must answer one question from their celebrity and then the celebrity picks  which woman they want to date.

In round one, there weren’t as many standout girls as last week. Most  seemed really nervous and just rambled. Some just seemed like they were trying too hard and came off like they never had human interaction. But there were a few girls that really stood out and that’s because they made all the other women look like refined ladies.

First up for the most hot mess girl of the night was Lindsey. Lindsey went on a rant about how she loved alcohol. If she could marry alcohol, date alcohol and become alcohol’s bff, she would. Of course, no one likes a sloppy drunk, and she seemed really sloppy drunk, so none of the guys picked her. The host, Cat Deeley basically had to hold her up and then tell her not to fall as she stumbled off the stage.

The second contender for the biggest hot mess of the night is Becky.  Becky came off normal at first, but when Parker Young was the last celebrity left and had to pick between two girls, Becky and Tina, Becky secured her spot by making a catty move and commenting about Tina’s age. Then the rest of the show she continued her bad attitude by telling Parker to shut up and giving the audience mean glares.

I can’t decide which round is more pointless, the second or third round, but I’m going to vote the second round. This round went so fast that you don’t really learn anything about the celebrities or the contestants. The round is so useless that the celebrities had to rely on  trivial things to pick which girl to eliminate. By the third round, each celebrity only had two women to choose from and here were the results.

Michael Catherwood’s final two ladies were Keyonna and Megan. He asked them: “What was the best advice they ever received about their love lives and who gave it to them?”

Megan said her mom told her to pick someone that loved her and have fun. Keyonna said her dad told her to go for what she wants  and not let anyone hold her back. Michael picked Keyonna and gave the infamous line “the darker the berry, the sweeter the juice” before picking African American contestant Keyonna.

Seth Wescott’s final two women were Morgan and Blaire. He asked them: “What is something you should have won a gold medal for?”

Morgan basically said for being a nice person and rocker Blaire said for being well-rounded. Both answers were so boring, but Seth picked Blaire for his date.

Parker Young’s finally two women were bad attitude Becky and Las Vegas girl Shannon.  Parker asked them “What was the biggest risk they had ever taken?”

Shannon said making the choice to move to Vegas and live life to the fullest. Becky said leaving her twin and trying to live life on her own. Parker picked Shannon, but not before Becky made more annoying comments.

Joe Jonas finally two girls were virgin Latika, who just by using the V-word made her pretty much not going to win a date. Joe’s done the virgin thing and not going back. His other contestant was Kimberly. He asked them: “What’s the most important thing you made a commitment to and why did you make it?”

Latika said stay a virgin and Kimberly said taking care of her brother. Joe Jonas( shocker!) picked Kimberly.

After two weeks of The Choice dating show 2012, it’s clear the best thing about this show is watching for the trainwreck contestants. So what was your favorite cringe worthy moment on tonight’s episode of The Choice dating show 2012?

  1. Shannon says:

Why did you have to point out Keyonna’s race? I noticed that you hadn’t pointed out anyone else’s, so why her?

    • Oh, man. That Becky was a TRIP! At first I loved her sass but then she straight up came off as rude.
Sweet Latika went on a celebrity/reality dating game show and simply put- homegirl needs to remember that. The guys are going to take the date as a fun way to meet people who aren’t in the business so that whole Vcard mentioning just turned things awkward real fast.

      Shannon,

I think it coincided or was to support Michael’s line about “dark berries” and not intended any other way.

    • Just because of Psycho Mike’s comment. So the random comment about the darker the berry joke makes sense. :) Like Karen said, I definitely didn’t mean it offensive.
