After months of pain, American Idol 2012 winner Phillip Phillips is slowly on his way to being pain-free after undergoing his much-needed kidney surgery. After dealing with kidney stone issues throughout all of American Idol 2012, according to TMZ, Phillip was under the knife for six and a half hours yesterday to remove kidney stones that were too large to pass.
Phillip Phillips’ representatives said the surgery went well and he is resting. During American Idol 2012, Phillip Phillips endured eight surgeries for the kidney stone issues, including a stent being placed in one t ease the pain. He was scheduled for surgery last week, but due to a sinus infection it had to be delayed. Fans of Phillip can rest assured, he is set to be recovered in time for the 2012 American Idol Live Tour.
Phillip Phillips’ dad said everyone should be excited to see his son once he is recovered. ”[America's] just seen a glimpse of what Phillip can do,” he said. “We can’t wait to get him well and 100 percent and really see how he can perform.”
