Phillip Phillips was crowned the winner of American Idol 2012 on Wednesday night and some are saying his coronation song, “Home,” may have been the one thing that pushed him past Jessica Sanchez…others are saying it’s his cute looks and how the majority of the voters are tween girls, but we aren’t focusing on that right now…it is all about the coronation song for the American Idol 2012 winner.
“Home” is a mix between folk and pop rock and definitely has the Phillip Phillips sound to it. The new single for the winner of American Idol 2012 is currently #1 on the iTunes charts, but Phillip isn’t as happy as some would be to hear that news. He told the Hollywood Reporter: “I don’t write songs like that. It’s a very good song and I’m glad people enjoyed it, but I’m itching to do my own stuff.” Phillip Phillips went on to say, “It’s a little too pop for me.”
As much as the American Idol 2012 winner is to get into the studio and start his own album, Phillip Phillips will have to wait on that for a little while. He will be busy recovering from his kidney surgery to help fix the kidneys that kept him in pain most of the American Idol 2012 season and he has the American Idol 2012 Top 10 summer tour to follow…busy, busy.

Home was a great performance. I like the guy because he’s original. It’s amazing how he could perform and make it through with a kidney giving him multiple kidney stone attacks. I’m not sure how he did it.
Phillips might have always something new and his voice is unique but the problem is HE IS ALWAYS OUT OF TUNE!!!!! Rita and Paula, I know you like the guy but he is not going to have as many albums as Jessica, and that’s the fact. Even the trainor, Jimmy, voted for Jessica. I guess, the more cute the person is, the better. I would probably watch X-Factor instead of American Idol. I don’t go by what people say about a certain singer, I judge them by their VOICE because this is a singing competition not popularity or the most admirable people in the world. I don’t care about their faces, I care about HOW THEY SING!!!!!!
I don’t care what a person looks like as long as I like their voice. One of the reasons I like The Voice because they are chosen for the voice not wether they look good. Same goes for Actors and Actresses if they can’t act then it doesn’t matter if they are nice looking. Still think Phillip has a different voice which is refreshing from the Maria/ Witney wanna be’s.
I love Phillip Phillips because he something new!I think at this point …people are getting sick of hip hop all the time .Phillip isnt just a cute face,but a man with a pure voice and a guitar..instead of having all this hoopla in the background …he has a down to earth image and that is refreshing to see nowadays.;)
l love Phillip Phillips for the simple reason that he is finally something new instead of hearing Hip hop all the time.He isnt just a cute face at all ..very talented!He has a unique voice and seems so down to earth ..doesnt need all that spruced up hollywood look..simple guy with a guitar and his pure voice.
Oh and one more thing, Jessica was already sent home BUT saved by the judges. Whats that telling you about how ppl voted??
PHILLIP IS THE BESTT!!!!!! ever since I seen his audition I knew he would do sooooo well!! and guess what he won, I have to say that sorry KATE….this is a singing comp BUT Phillip was the full package…brought us something new, not like Jessica or Joshua, They just sounded like evryone else. Phillip is so talented, a great singer, performer and musician!! Done hate just be happy for him!

So you guys really think that Phillip Phillips deserve to win? You guys might have a hearing problem!!! My husband laughed at his last song because he was OUT OF TUNE!!!!! So, this is a popularity and good looking people contest not a singing competition. Jessica and Joshua should be in the finale not Phillips. I WILL NEVER WATCH AMERICAN IDOL EVER AGAIN, THIS SHOW IS NOT A SINGING CONTEST, IT IS A POPULARITY CONTEST!!!!!!
this is a really great song and yes i would buy this when it gets to new zealand and the song would be so great for the 3rd book hunger games when made into a movie i could feel the power behind this song .. good on you phillip keep going strong

Well done Phillip – I like your style. I like the single but would never recognise it as being Phillip Phillips – didnt sound like him at all. It could have come off any Coldplay album. I am looking forward to HIS music – not what some record company thinks he should sound like.
