Our absolute favorite performance from America’s Got Talent 2012 on Monday night was also one of the strangest we’ve ever seen on the show. While there was plenty of talent to be had on America’s Got Talent last night, we fell totally in love with quirky instrument maker and performer William Close and his amazing Earth harp.
Looking a little bit wild in the hair and the eyes, William Close endured being called a hippie and challenged by America’s Got Talent 2012 judge Howard Stern on whether or not he had a real job. The instrument maker and teacher stood up to the verbal harassment stoically and defied Stern’s low expectations when he ended up giving one of the most impressive performances of the night and was passed through to the next round.
If you haven’t had a chance to watch the way too fabulous America’s Got Talent William Close Earth Harp video yet, that is something you must remedy immediately! Not only did William Close turn an entire building into his own personal musical instrument, but he played the absolute hell out of it!
Isn’t that just one of the coolest things you’ve ever seen on America’s Got Talent? We totally loved it! However, the big question has to be asked… what do you do as a follow-up? Can you possibly outdo that kind of performance, or make it into a million dollar show for Las Vegas? That remains to be seen…
