Kanye West Finally Calls Taylor Swift to Apologize Personally

The two parties involved in the Kanye West – Taylor Swift incident at the MTV Video Music Awards are now actually talking to each other. Shortly after appearing on The View Tuesday morning, Taylor Swift finally received an apology call from Kanye West. Better late than never, we guess.

Talking to the ladies on The View – including guest host Kate Gosselin – Taylor Swift said she had yet to receive a direct apology from Kanye Swift over the VMAs incident. (Video here – if you are one of the rare few who haven’t seen it yet.)

Kanye West did apologize via his blog and on The Jay Leno Show Monday night, but had not yet actually contacted her to deliver his apology personally. After hearing about what Taylor Swift said on The View, West quickly responded by giving the young singer a ring.

A spokesperson from The View released a statement Tuesday afternoon saying West “spoke personally to the coutnry music superstar via telephone and has apologized to the 19-year-old singer. She has accepted Mr. West’s apology. The contents of the phone call are to remain private.”

Swift later told ABC News Radio that she felt West was “very sincere in his apology.”

Hopefully, now that the injured party herself has granted forgiveness for the VMA incident, Kanye West can finally go crawl back under a rock somewhere and stop using his bad behavior as an excuse to get his name splashed all over the media.

Granted, we’re guilty of being party to his media-whoring, so let us apologize directly to you – our readers – for falling prey to the heady drug of scandal and celebrity stupidity. Again. Did we mention we’re sorry?
