Everyone thought the biggest thing to come out of Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards would be the new Twilight trailer. Instead, the Net is overloaded with massive buzz over the nasty insult given by Kanye West to Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech for Best Female Video.

As poor Taylor Swift started to speak after receiving the award for Best Female Video at the VMAs on Sunday, Kayne West rudely jumped on stage and grabbed her mic. Shouting to the audience, Kanye West dissed Swift by yelling out: “Taylor, I’m really happy for you, and I’m gonna let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.”
Although West later apologized, even penning an all caps apology post on his blog – “I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM” – no apology is enough for his shockingly disgusting behavior. Quick a few celebrity responders to West’s outburst seem to agree. Even President Barack Obama couldn’t resist commenting on the debacle.

Kanye West is officially our asshat of the month after this incident, with Serena Williams and Joe Wilson following a close second and third.

here is the bottom line… Kanya West is a phenomenal artist yet as a person he is an arrongant, narcissistic asshole, which was confirmed after his little “tantrum/outburst” at the vmas. my problem is how people think this is about race. it honestly has nothing to do with race, it has to do with an idiot stealing the spotlight from an innocent 19 year old girl. this would have been no different than if he would have done this with another black artist. no matter if the offender or the victim was black, white, native american, chinese, or whatever the results still remains the same….Kanye is a jackass!

I mean come on, your an artist, you should have a bit of respect for other people in the industry. He shouldn’t have done that at all. It not like she nominated herself to the max to win the award. She did what everyone else did; make an awesome video and hope it impresses her fans. He’s showing that being disrespectful is an ok thing to do. I agree with cyna and whatsit. He does make African American people look bad. As an African American woman, from my point of view, you can shove 4 or 5 strong African American people up there who are doing well, becoming role models, and it takes one like kanye to destroy it all, then complain how the man is tearing them down. Its not the man, its YOURSELF! Last time I check, we are capable of making our own decisions.

If you watch the video again, you can see members in the audience giving him the “thumbs down” and yelling at him. Then folks are standing up and clapping, after the shock and awe, and appear to be cheering for Taylor. If anything at all…this whole incident has brought more attention to Taylor, although it be embarassing for her right now. Lotsa folks at work, never heard of her till this. Hopefully, this will bring her sales up. Taylor should’ve knocked his azz off the stage…but she too, is too much of a lady. Like Mama always said….”What goes around, comes around!”

I don’t generally watch too much TV. This site came to me in an e-mail, so I figured I would have a look. I am appalled that anyone would bring race into this. Just because one person is black and one person is white doesn’t mean that every bad, honest, hurtful, or rude thing they do is because of their race. What Kanye did may be any of those things. He was definitely out of line, and what he did was rude and disrespectful. He should have expressed his feelings in a more discreet, polite way. Just because Taylor is white doesn’t mean that she can’t win an award, or that a black person can’t make it in america. Taylor has talent, She won. Kanye did the wrong thing.

Blacks who act like spoiled brats are no better than a white, mexican, or chinese celebrity being spoiled. For example, Paris Hilton makes white people look bad.
