Body of Missing Yale Graduate Student Annie Le Found
The body of missing Yale graduate student Annie Le was found this weekend in a wall of a laboratory building in the university’s medical complex. Annie Le went missing on Friday, just days before she was to wed. Police believe the murder of Annie Le was personally motivated and no one else is in danger.

Yale University graduate student Annie Le was last seen entering a laboratory building in the campus’ medical complex on Friday. Video footage of the building showed the 24-year-old pharmacology student entering, but never exiting. This weekend, police found the body of a young woman found stuffed into a wall of the building. Authorities confirmed the identity of the body as Annie Le on Monday.
Speaking on CBS’ Early Show on Monday, one of Annie Le’s friends said she could not imagine anyone would want to harm her. Jennifer Simpson said she felt Le would have told her friends or family if she was in trouble. Le was to be married on Sunday to her fiancĂ©, Jonathan Widawsky, in a ceremony on Long Island.
The Connecticut chief medical examiner has ruled Annie Le’s death a homicide, but is withholding the official cause of death “in order to facilitate the investigation” into her murder.
Although police have refused to comment on whether they have a specific suspect in the case, they have assured the community the attack was targeted and it is unlikely anyone else is in danger from the killer. Several media reports have claimed authorities do have a suspect, possibly a student from another university, and that the suspect has failed a lie-detector test.
“We’re not believing it’s a random act,” police spokesman Joe Avery said in a statement to the press. Police say they have a “large amount” of physical evidence in the case.
