Obama School Speech to Kids – VIDEO

President Barack Obama lectured students to work hard and take responsibility for their education in a controversial school speech to kids aired on Tuesday. Obama appeared at a North Virginia High school live for the speech, which was broadcast in schools nationwide.

“There is no excuse for not trying. No one has written your destiny for you, because here in America you write your own destiny,” President Obama said during his speech on education.

Some schools refused to carry Obama school speech video, largely due to protests from parents who did not want their children to listen to Obama’s speech. At other schools, parents pulled their children out of class to prevent them from seeing the speech.

Those wary of President Obama’s motives suggested the speech was a way for him to indoctrinate children to his point of view. Supporters, however, argue the speech was nothing more than a pep talk to encourage students to study hard and focus on their education.
