The new Dallas episode began with Christopher, Bobby, Sue Ellen, and John Ross going to the crime scene in Mexico.  Nobody knew he was there and the event didn’t make sense.  The police said it appeared JR was shot during a robbery and suggested JR was doing business with the cartel.  The Ewing’s didn’t believe it was JR or that he was killed in the dingy motel.  However, viewing the body proved that it was indeed JR.

Bobby confronted John Ross about the death of JR.  He insisted that John Ross must have known something. But John Ross knew nothing; he only knew that JR had a plan.  But nobody knows what his master plan was.

A friend of the Ewing’s, Carlos, came to investigate JR’s death and sent them all back to Dallas with the promise of bringing them answers.  However, the only information he got confirmed what the police already said.  JR died in a robbery.  JR was seen with a woman but they said it was unlikely the killer would ever be found.  The Ewing’s had conflicting feelings on the Dallas TV show new episode.  The family has had a love-hate relationship with JR and now none of them know how to feel.

John Ross is now on a mission to find his father’s killer on Dallas 2013.  Sue Ellen told him there were a lot of people who wanted him dead and finding the killer would be tough.  John Ross got angry that Sue Ellen was still focused on oil and not mourning the death of JR.  Sue Ellen tried to get JR’s brother Gary into letting her drill on Southfork by flirting with him and asking him for support.

Friends and family from JR’s life came back for the celebration of his life and funeral on the new Dallas on TNT.  They reminisced about the good and bad times.  Elena Ramos and Pamela Barnes both tried to comfort John Ross but he couldn’t be consoled.

The fact that he didn’t know what his father was up to really got to him.  Oddly enough the person who helped him was Emma.  She gave him a pill of some sort.  Emma’s behavior on the new Dallas was very strange.  She acted like she knew something about JR’s death but never said anything.  She then drank with John Ross and hooked up with him.  Things just keep getting more complicated on Dallas 2013.

Old friend and family weren’t the only ones to make an appearance on the big Dallas season 2 episode. Ewing family enemy, Cliff Barnes decided to make an appearance to pay his “disrespect” for JR and claimed he wished he could have killed him.  Pamela got Cliff to leave before things go too heated but others decided to voice their negative opinions on JR.  Christopher and John Ross put an end to it by fighting the guys.  Christopher vowed to help John Ross help find JR’s killer and avenge his death together.

John Ross wasn’t the only angry one on the Dallas TV Show.  Bobby exploded his pent up angry feelings towards his wife.  He felt isolated that Annie never shared the pain she had of losing her daughter and kept so many secrets from him.  He realized he doesn’t really know her.  The complication of the death of JR only made his emotions worse.

Sue Ellen was composed during the first part of the new Dallas but gave into drinking when she visited JR’s room.  Seeing their wedding picture and having a letter from him was too much for her to handle.  She used the alcohol for courage.  Everybody thought she had moved on from JR but she obviously hasn’t.

Everybody reflected on JR’s life at his funeral.  Christopher explained how he has spent his life trying to prove he is worthy of the Ewing name.  JR may have not always been nice to him but he supported him when he needed it most; when his mom walked out on him.

Sue Ellen explained her confusing relationship with JR and admitted she drank the night before.  She drank before the funeral and read the letter JR left her.  The letter was an apology for all his wrongs and a letter proclaiming his love for her.  He wanted to rekindle their love when he got back to Dallas.  He never made back.

Bobby said JR always did bad things in life but most of the time it was the right thing to do.  He didn’t want to admit his brother was dead and is still trying to figure out what to do.

John Ross and Christopher stayed after everybody else left and JR’s private detective Bum brought a message.  JR had been looking for Christopher’s mother and tracking down a lead on Harris in the last few monthsWith the message came a note.  It said Barnes would be coming after them.  JR said Barnes would probably join forces with Harris to take them down and said Bobby would know what to do.  JR also left a message for Bobby.  He didn’t reveal what it said.  He pulled Bum aside and told him to pay-off whoever needed to be paid so it still looked like JR was killed by muggers.  Bobby finally broke down and cried at the end of the episode.
