Ewing Energies is full of family drama with John Ross, Sue Ellen, Bobby, Christopher, and Pamela Barnes. Bobby and Christopher won’t let John Ross and Sue Ellen take control that easily. Bobby and his brother Gary took back his mineral rights to Southfork which means there will be no drilling on Southfork until John Ross and Sue Ellen give up majority power. Gary needs the money from the oil and needs the feud to end quickly.
John Ross thinks he has power over Pamela’s voting power since they developed a relationship but Christopher tried to sway her opinion by showing her the race car that uses his technology. The car could seal him a very big deal.
Pamela turned her back on John Ross after speaking with her father. They agreed that investing in both oil and methane is better for the company. John Ross told her Christopher’s methane patent is just a liability if his race car doesn’t land him a deal.
Before the big race the car had some problems. What Christopher didn’t know was that after they were fixed John Ross had the car tampered with. He bribed one of the mechanics after hearing that Gary needed the oil money. Sue Ellen also stuck her nose into things by putting doubt into Gary’s mind about Bobby’s decision to suspend the oil drilling. Sue Ellen picked up a few tricks of her own over the years dealing with the Ewing’s.
Elena Ramos’ brother couldn’t give up on finding out if there was oil on their father’s old land. After looking into it he found out the land does have oil it, it is just deeper than their father drilled. Drew wants Elena to buy back the land so Elena can have the success she desires without needing Ewing Energies.
Just when Annie was about to get a chance to build a relationship with her daughter Emma on Dallas 2013, Annie’s ex-husband Harris decided to move her back to London. Before she was supposed to leave Emma went to see Annie and bonded with her over her father and grandmother’s behavior and their mutual love of riding horses.
Emma asked to stay in Dallas so she could get to know Annie and spend more time Harris. He blew up at the idea of it and blamed it on her not taking her medication. Emma pretended to comply with her father’s wishes but ran away to Annie’s before her grandmother could take her to London.
On the new Dallas JR said he went to seal some oil deals. What he was really doing is scheming. He is behind something much bigger than everybody could have imagined. He has been pulling the strings on just about everything on Dallas 2013; from Harris to the race car.
The methane powered race car’s performance on the new Dallas would determine where the power in Ewing Energies would go and whether or not the methane patent was worth the risk. When race time came everybody thought the car was race ready; except for John Ross, who set it up to fail.
The car had pressure problems but Bobby was able to get the regulator out of the prototype in time for the driver to catch up. John Ross’s plan failed. Christopher made it quite obvious his energy source would be ground breaking in the industry.
Pamela decided to back Christopher, which means Sue Ellen and John Ross can’t control the company. However, they won’t back down. No oil or power for Sue Ellen and John Ross. When John Ross explained the situation to JR over the phone, JR reassured him that he still had a plan and he John Ross shouldn’t worry. The episode ended with gunshots being fired on JR’s end on the line. Who shot JR?
