Is it true that you are prepared for it? Taylor Swift simply made Friday an extremely cheerful day for Swifties (and a bustling one for music essayists) with the spic and span track “Gorgeous,” which dropped at midnight ET.
TayTay prodded the new track early Thursday with a trio of Instagrams, one including the tune’s introduction, an infant voice saying “Gorgeous” over an electro-pop soundbed. The others were less obscure: one offered the message “accessible all around,” and the other “midnight this evening eastern.”
On “Gorgeous,” Swift comes back to gooey pop. “You’re so gorgeous, I can’t say anything to your face/ ‘Cause look at your face/ And I’m so furious at you for making me feel this way/ But what can I say? You’re gorgeous,” she sings.
“Gorgeous” is lifted from her new collection Reputation, and it takes after “Look What You Made Me Do,” her fifth Hot 100 outline topper, and the quick follow-up “… Prepared for It?”.
Notoriety, Swift’s 6th studio set, is expected to arrive Nov. 10.1 of 1
