Singing ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer was reported the victor of America’s Got Talent season 12 Wednesday night (Sept. 20).
After more than 52 million votes were thrown in the challenge, the 12-year-old turned into the second ventriloquist to win the NBC the truth show’s $1 million thousand prize.
The Oklahoma local and her manikin, Petunia, were joined on the live finale via season 2 AGT victor Terry Fator – a ventriloquist Farmer called her “golden calf” – for a two part harmony of “Anything You Can Do (I Can Do Better).” Watch here:
Fator and his puppet, Winston the Impersonating Turtle, have a $100 million five-year contract at The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.
Farmer burst into tears when host Tyra Banks announced her as the winner, joined onstage by runner-up Angelica Hale, a 10-year-old singer with a history of major health challenges.
