Aubrey Plaza has said that she would “die” to play Catwoman on the extra large screen, and in Matt Spicer’s gnawing parody Ingrid Goes West the performing artist at long last gets an opportunity to dive her hooks into the notorious DC villainess.
In this scene from the film, only on MTV News, Plaza’s unhinged screw-up Ingrid makes an arrangement. She consents to peruse the part of Catwoman amid her beguiling neighbor Dan’s table perused for his Batman content in return for his truck. “Scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours,” Dan (played by the magnetic O’Shea Jackson Jr.) murmurs.
Initially, Ingrid isn’t into the idea of hanging out with a bunch of nerds, but for the sake of her budding friendship with Elizabeth Olsen’s Instagram influencer Taylor Sloane, she agrees. She’s got a date in Joshua Tree she desperately can’t miss.
Ingrid revisits Catwoman for a purrrfect striptease later in the movie, in which she and Dan truly inhabit the roles of Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne.
Ingrid Goes West is playing in select theaters in New York and Los Angeles now.
