According to TMZ, Dance Moms star Mackenzie Ziegler and her mother Melissa Gisoni may have to go to court over a breach of contract.
Kismet Music is going after 13-year-old Ziegler over a deal made in 2014. Kismet claims that Ziegler breached her deal with them when she worked with a producer “on the side.”
The production company claims that Ziegler breached the contract’s terms of exclusivity which stipulates that the teenager is prohibited from working with a music producer who is not employed by the company. The also insist that Ziegler missed record sessions and avoided contact with them.
Court document show that Mackenzie promised to “deliver technically and commercially satisfactory records,” for Kismet. They are suing for 15 % of Ziegler’s net profit.
Ziegler’s legal team described the lawsuit as “frivolous,” and claims it’s one they “intend to prove in a court of law.”
“This is yet another example of a production company taking advantage of a young rising star,” they said in a statement.
