The fourth round of this season’s “America’s got Talent” gave us a few memorable acts, even though we would like to forget a couple of them, and another ‘Golden Buzzer’. Surprisingly, the ‘Golden Buzzer’ came from host Tyra Banks. With the auditions soon coming to a close, the contestants are feeling the pressure to make it to the next round.
The night started with an act that left the judges and audience amazed. The Light Balance Dance Group wowed viewers with an amazing blend of dance and light spectacle. Although there have been a number of dance groups that have graced the ‘AGT’ stage, this one cleverly used lights to give viewers something original. The dancers wore special clothing with different colored lights to showcase their moves. Tyra banks was so impressed with their routine that she stormed out on stage and pressed the ‘Golden Buzzer,’ automatically sending the group to the live show.
It seemed like nothing could top the opening act as a number of singers, dancers and clowns gave less than impressive performances. It kept getting worse and worse as one awful act followed another. One man sang an original song bragging about his wife who is 25 years younger than him, and another gave a performed a Robert De Niro impersonation. And then things got weird. To men took the stage with nothing on but a chef’s hat and a couple pans that were covering their private parts, for the most of the time at least. They obviously did not make it to the next round.
Just when I was about to give up on last night’s episode, a man named Tom London took the stage and wowed everyone. By mixing magic and technology, he was able to not only control the audience’s phones, but he was able to use math to answer some personal questions about the judges. Something that has to be seen to be believed.
I imagine it must’ve been hard to take the stage after that crazy magic act, but when 13-year-old Evie Clair walked out on stage, I had a feeling I was going to see something special. After sharing her emotional story of how her music helped her keep strong while battling stage 4 lung cancer, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. She gave sang her heart out and the judges were pleased. Afterward, her parents came on stage to congratulate her on her four yeses.
