Chloe Decker tries to figure out what really happened after Charlotte Richards accidentally chars a man to death in the Lucifer season 2 finale. For a refresher on what happened last week, read my recap of episode 17.
The Lucifer season 2 finale opens on Charlotte trying to figure out what to do with the charred body of Chet Ruiz. She makes a call to get someone to clean up the mess.
Later, Charlotte tells Lucifer Morningstar what happened with Chet. He’s alarmed because Chloe is on the case and he knows she’s a great detective.
Lucifer visits Chloe’s house. He tells Maze that he needs her to find Amenadiel.
Later, Lucifer and Chloe find a van parked near the crime scene. Lucifer tries to convince her they should focus on a different case, but Chloe catches two people in the middle of moving a body.
The women disposing of the body introduce themselves as Ava Lyon and Kathleen Lyon. They say they run a legitimate business cleaning up violent scenes.
Charlotte confronts Linda Martin. She asks her why she thought Lucifer might have given her a wound.
Chloe and Dan Espinoza go to the cleaners’ work place, where they find Ava’s dead body. Kathleen confesses that she got a call offering her $100 grand to clean up a murder. But, she won’t give more information because she’s worried Ava’s death was a warning for her to keep her mouth shut.
Charlotte tells Lucifer that Linda told her about his plan to leave her in heaven. She grabs both Lucifer and Amenadiel and throws them across the room. She asks Amenadiel for the final piece of the flaming sword, but he says she’ll have to kill him. She leaves.
Amenadiel says that he’ll check on Linda. He tells Lucifer to find Charlotte because she’ll listen to him.
Lucifer finds Charlotte and assembles the flaming sword. He tells Charlotte, “I’m sorry, mum, but I’m afraid that this ends now.”
Lucifer aims the flaming sword at Charlotte as he says that she’s hurt so many people and it has to stop. She tells him that with the sword, they can finally get revenge on Lucifer’s father.
He cuts a whole in the world and tells Charlotte to enter it so she can create her own world, without God. She tells him that she’ll miss him before stepping into the new world.
At the end of the episode, Lucifer is knocked out by an unseen person. He wakes up in the desert, with burned skin and full angel wings.
