Each of the four couples was paired with one of the DWTS 2017 judges, who coached the duos and chose the dance styles for them to perform. Simone Biles & Sasha Farber delivered amazing performances, earning perfect scores for both rounds. However, they were ultimately eliminated from the competition, just shy of this week’s finale. Tonight, the final three couples will compete in two rounds: the redemption round and the freestyle round. Be sure to watch as we bring you tonight’s DWTS 2017 live recap!

We’ve got two rounds of competition tonight. First up is the redemption round. Here we go!
David Ross & Lindsay Arnold – Viennese Waltz to “Let’s Hurt Tonight” by OneRepublic
Judges: Len said congratulations on making it through to the finals. He’s pleased for him. There is improvement in his dance but not so much in the viennese waltz. However, it’s always a pleasure and a joy to watch him because he’s so full of enthusiasm. Julianne said she saw the improvement. He’s doing it for the fans. He deserves to be in the finals. Bruno said he was spinning like a windmill in a hurricane, and in spite of the rough weather he kept the glow and flow of the dance. He’s not the best technical dancer but he’s approachable and lovable. Carrie Ann said he’s a hero and he’s beaten all the odds to be here. He makes the best connection. Sometimes though he takes big steps, but she loves watching him dance.
Scores: Carrie Ann – 8, Len – 8, Julianne – 9, Bruno – 8 = 33/40
Normani Kordei & Val Chmerkovskiy – Quickstep to “Check It Out” by Oh the Larceny
Judges: Julianne said she has been one of the most consistent couples in the entire season. She already had high expectations for her. She saw a little bit of lacking in body contact. Bruno said that was brilliant! Carrie Ann said she thought it was fantastic. She hits the floor and goes into diva mode. She still continues to take risks. She is the bomb. Len said it was a little bit speedy, too much running around. The quickstep has to be fast but you don’t hurry. It doesn’t take away from the fact that she’s terrific.
Scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 9, Julianne – 9, Bruno – 10 = 38/40
Rashad Jennings & Emma Slater – Viennese Waltz to “Dark Times” by The Weeknd featuring Ed Sheeran
Judges: Bruno said it was refined, polished, majestic, smooth as silk. It had the right amount of sensual tonality. His footwork is unrecognizable. Carrie Ann said his tireless pursuit of absolute personal best perfection is amazing. He had magic happen. This is what makes winners, winners. It’s amazing. Len said he was look for improvement from the last time and he saw it in every level in that dance. Julianne said she sees the hard work he puts into it every week.
Scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, Julianne – 10, Bruno – 10 = 40/40! (Amazing!)
Time for the freestyle round!
David Ross & Lindsay Arnold – Freestyle to “It Takes Two”/”Take Me Out to the Ballgame” (Medley) by Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock/Ronnie Neuman
Judges: Len said week one he said it wasn’t a home run but he got to first base. He’s been waiting for him to knock it out of the park. The only thing missing was a beer and a hot dog. Julianne said that was so much fun and entertaining. He gives connection to everybody. Bruno said it was the best-looking team ever and perfectly in sync. Carrie Ann said everyone has their own personal best, and tonight he hit his.
Scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, Julianne – 10, Bruno – 10 = 40/40! (Yay! Their first perfect score!)
Normani Kordei & Val Chmerkovskiy – Freestyle to “What the World Needs Now is Love” by Andra Day
Judges: Julianne said that was absolutely breathtaking. Her passion, her performance, her light, she gave it to all of them. Her journey and her light has transcended to people all over the country and the world. It’s so raw and authentic. Bruno said it was so inspirational and achingly beautiful. It was pure as if it came out of her soul. It was like watching angels dancing, divine. Carrie Ann said she’s in a class of her own in the way she articulates. She has an incredibly deep and beautiful soul. Len said it was so emotional, so much beauty. It was just breathtaking.
Scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, Julianne – 10, Bruno – 10 = 40/40! (Beautiful!)
Rashad Jennings & Emma Slater – “Let’s Go”/”Uptown Funk” (Medley) from Drumline/Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars
Judges: Bruno said it was sensational. Uptown, downtown, across America, everybody will never forget this one. Carrie Ann said he’s been holding out on them. That is how you turn this mother out! Len said it was so good he could put up with this music. He’s the one with the momentum going into tomorrow night. Julianne said now that is a freestyle. There are so many iconic freestyles and that is going in the book as one of them.
Scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, Julianne – 10, Bruno – 10 = 40/40! (Two perfect scores!)
