Once Upon a Time season 7 reboot is happening, with or without Emma Swan.
The rumor mill had been running as the series hit it’s all time low during the much anticipated musical episode last Sunday. In addition, the following morning Jennifer Morrison announced that she will be leaving the show at the end of season 6. However, the show remains a valuable part to the ABC lineup and Adam Horowitz announced via Twitter, that Once Upon a Time had gotten the official order for a season 7 reboot of the show.
With Morrison out of the equation, speculations started as to what this would mean for the show. Morrison was apart of the four cast members that were approached to renew their contracts. Robert Carlyle, Lana Parrilla, and Colin O’Donoghue are locked to come back for the next season.
Season 7 is expected to be a revamped version of the show. With a majority of the original cast not returning as regulars. The three returning cast members will be joined by Andrew J. West from The Walking Dead and Alison Fernandez from Jane the Virgin.
The season 6 finale will be setting the stage on what to expect with the upcoming season. As well as give closure to certain story lines as some of the characters will be not be returning.
The Once Upon a Time season 6 two-hour finale airs this Sunday, following an hour long retrospect of the series.
