Jimmy McGill asks Mike Ehrmantraut to do a favor in Better Call Saul season 3 episode 4. For a refresher on what happened last week, read my recap of episode 3.
Better Call Saul season 3 episode 4 opens with Don Eladio visiting Hector Salamanca. Hector tells him that he bought a new ice cream company, including a shop in Albuquerque.
Don Eladio jokes about how Gus Fring brought him more money than Hector did. He laughs and tells Hector not to react so seriously, saying that they’re all friends.
Mike sits in his car, on a stakeout. He watches a DEA raid. While he’s watching, he calls Stacey Ehrmantraut to check in on her.
Mike works at the toll booth when he gets a delivery. It’s money from Gus. He gives it back, telling the man who dropped it off, “Tell him we’re square.”
At Los Pollos Hermanos, the employees are cleaning up when Gus arrives. He apologizes to them for an incident the previous day when Hector and his men entered the restaurant and demanded to speak to Gus.
Mike goes to Chuck McGill‘s house to work a repair job. He uses a power tool even when he doesn’t have to in order to upset Chuck enough that he goes upstairs. Then, he starts taking pictures.
The next day, Jimmy looks over the photos while getting breakfast with Mike. Jimmy asks Mike what he thought of Chuck, but Mike has no response.
Gus meets and asks Mike why he didn’t take his money. Mike says that he didn’t do what he did for Gus. Gus asks if he’d want to work for him in the future. Mike says that it depends on the work.
Jimmy and Kim Wexler meet with Chuck and Howard Hamlin to finalize Jimmy’s plea agreement with Ms. Haig.
Kim tells Chuck that she’ll be filing a motion to suppress the tape, which she’s sure Chuck made a duplicate of. Chuck confirms he made a duplicate and tells her that she can file whatever motions she wants, but it will be played. When she meets back up with Jimmy, she smiles at him and says, “Bingo.”
