The team solves a jewelry heist in the Rosewood season 2 finale. For a refresher on what happened last week, read my recap of episode 21.
The Rosewood season 2 finale opens on a montage. Beaumont Rosewood looks in his bathroom mirror. Meanwhile, Marcos Villa showers.
Later, Rosewood calls in the team because of a body left out in public. It turns out, the body was stolen from a mortuary. Annalise Villa realizes that whoever placed it was just trying to create a diversion. She starts evacuating the streets before spotting a masked criminal.
Villa catches up Ryan Slade. She explains that burglars placed a body to distract from a jewelry heist.
Later, Mitchie Mendelson tells Rosewood that they have a match on dandruff found at the scene. Villa and Ira Hornstock tell Rosewood the suspect’s name is Benji Tovar. But, when they arrive at Benji’s apartment, they only find a body.
Villa and Hornstock see that his gunshot wound was at close range. They believe one of his teammates shot him.
Villa, Rosewood and Hornstock go to an abandoned mall that they suspect the burglars were working out of. They set off a motion alert and Villa realizes they’re being watched. A man named Wayne tries to drive away, but police surround him and shoot at his car until it crashes and he steps out. His car explodes behind him.
Wayne says that Benji offered him $1,000 a day to build a replica of the jewelry store and he thought it was weird, but he needed the money. Hornstock tells him that if he doesn’t give them what they need to find the guy behind the heist, he’ll put him away.
Villa realizes a heist is going down at the store where one jewelry moved all his diamonds. She arrives at the scene as the burglars are getting away. She stops their car and points her gun at them, asking them to surrender the vehicle. But, one man raises his gun and shoots at her.
The vehicle tries to get away, but cop cars and helicopters surround it. The burglars step out and start shooting their machine guns.
Villa goes after one of the burglars. But, when she finds him she sees that it’s Marcos. He tells her he’s sorry.
She asks how he could do this. He says that he gave the last eight years to this country and they threw him away like trash. When he refuses to put his weapon down, she gives him instructions for how to get away. However, once he’s gone, she puts in a call telling other police exactly what road he’ll be taking.
At the end of the episode, Villa tells Rosewood that Adrian got a job in L.A. She’s leaving with him. However, before she leaves, she tells Rosewood, “Say something that’ll make me stay.” After a minute, he says, “Annalise.” She turns around to face him. Before, he can continue speaking, the episode ends.
