Bay Kennish makes a decision about moving to Japan in Switched at Birth series finale. For a refresher on what happened last week, read my recap of episode 9.
The Switched at Birth series finale opens with Kathryn reminiscing about when Regina Vasquez moved in. She tells Regina that it’s been 5 years. Regina tells her that she’s moving out.
Later, Kathryn asks John Kennish if he has the lab results from when they found out about the switch. She explains that she’s thinking of making Regina a scrapbook.
Daphne Vasquez and Mingo attend a lecture by a sports therapist named Dr. Eric Bannon. They find out that he’s offering a paid internship. They both decide to apply.
Regina tells Melody Bledsoe that she thinks she’s still in love with Eric. She says that she could travel back and forth since she’s not a fugitive. Melody recommends that she think long and hard about it.
When Daphne goes in to interview for the internship, Bannon tells her that her application should’ve been flagged because she’s deaf. He tells her to forget this “dangerous fantasy” and concentrate on something she’s suited for.
Everyone attends a party to celebrate Bay’s tattoo being featured in a tattoo magazine. Bay tells Daphne that she doesn’t have to be there because she knows she had a bad day. Daphne assures her that she wants to be there to celebrate her.
Regina tells Luca that them moving in together would be a bad idea. She explains that she’s in love with someone else.
Toby Kennish goes to an interview with a man named Tanzibar Kane who runs a night club. He’s a fan of Toby and wants him to be their regular DJ.
At the party, Bay and John get into a fight. Bay brings up the fact that he kicked Travis Barnes off the team. John tells her that he pulled strings to make it possible for Travis to go to Japan. When Bay is surprised, John says, “I think you should talk to your boyfriend.”
Travis tells Bay this is the only chance he’ll get to play professional baseball. He tells her there’s nothing he wants more than for her to come with him, but he knows it’s a huge ask. He tells her that if she comes with him, then when this is over he’ll go wherever she wants. She says that she’ll think about it.
Kathryn confronts John about the fact that he took a DNA test before anyone else did. She asks if he thought that she cheated on him. John doesn’t respond.
Regina and Daphne visit their old house. Regina tells Daphne, “Vasquez women are tough. We don’t quit. We don’t take crap from anyone.”
Bay shows up at Emmett Bledsoe‘s door. She asks him, “If I asked you to do something crazy, would you consider it?”
Later, Bay tells Travis that Emmett wants to go to Japan with her. But, she says that she can’t go. However, she tells him it doesn’t mean their relationship is over.
Regina finds Eric. She tells him to turn himself in. She says that he can serve a short sentence and then he’ll be free and they can live their life together.
At the end of the episode, Kathryn throws a party to celebrate the 5-year anniversary of finding out about the switch. Everyone lies on the grass outside and watches for a comet to fly by.
