American Idol 2013 Season 12 Live Recap: Hollywood Week Part 1 (VIDEOS)

Hollywood Week is upon us for American Idol 2013 Season 12 and the new American Idol judges 2013 (Randy Jackson, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Mariah Carey) are bringing together all the talent they found during the audition rounds and one of these lucky singers will be the next winner of American Idol! We have seen good and bad auditions on American Idol Season 12 and now it is time to see those good singers and see how they work under the pressure of Hollywood Week. It is always a crazy week and now it will be broken into two weeks, as the guys and girls will perform separately from each other for the first time on American Idol 2013. See how it goes for them during my American Idol 2013 Season 12 Live Recap!

The guys take center stage this week on American Idol Season 12 and then the girls go front and center next week. How do you think this is going to turn out for Ryan Seacrest and the gang on Idol? The season finishes with a Top 10 all competing against each other, whether they are a guy or a girl, so why separate them during Hollywood Week? Besides see that, we can also see if the American Idol 2013 spoilers are true and if this is your Top 40 on American Idol Season 12!

The following post contains American Idol 2013 spoilers and videos for the American Idol Season 12 Hollywood Week on Wednesday. Please stop reading if you do not want to know what happened!

Are you ready for this? Previews look intense! Hollywood anyone? Get your bags packed because we are going now!!! The singers arrive and notice it is all guys…what? Yup, the girls come next week so bring it on boys!

The judges arrive and take their seats and come out in groups of ten and sing acapella. They will be told instantly if they make it through to the next round or not…intense!

In the first group is Micah Johnson and he is going to the next round along with four others. Other yeses include Nate Tao, Gabe Brown and Gurpreet Singh Sarin.

The yeses stop, as Karl Skinner drinks a lot of Coca-Cola, but he is sent home. That continues for Dustin Watts and Dr. Calvin Peters, as they are both sent home as well!

Where did Cortez Shaw come from??? He seems to start out okay, but he seems very very loud and a little too much for me to handle. Did you like him? Mariah liked him, but Nicki thought he did a poor job and she would have sent him home, but the other judges voted for him and he is moving on.

Curtis Finch, Jr. impresses the judges and do we have another Joshua Ledet this season? Frankie Ford joins him and we have Lazaro Arbos now! He stutters his way through the song and then nails his song…so amazing! He moves to the next round!!!

It is the next round also for Trevor Blakney, Bryant Tadeo and Charles Allen (who Randy gave a standing ovation to).

The first day is coming to an end and the last line features Brian Rittenberry. It was not unanimous, but it is the end of the road for Brian. Do you agree with the judges? The first day ends and the judges sent home half of the guys, but the group performances are up next!

The groups are starting to form, but there is a twist this year! Nigel Lythgoe changes it up. They will be putting people in groups and once in a group they cannot change it! Like the change?

The groups are performing and Lazaro doesn’t know the song they want to pick and he doesn’t want to sing it. More drama as we have country singers and divas working together on the same team as Josh “Jada” Davila and Joel Wayman.

The drama starts, as Adam Sanders and Papa Peachez want to change their song late in the night, but their team doesn’t want to. Then the country singers want to focus on the lyrics, but Josh and Joel want to work on the dance moves. They practice on lyrics, but then part ways to get a little sleep, so they will probably fail, right?

The Group Day has arrived on American Idol 2013 Season 12 and here we go! The first group features Nick Boddington, Matheus Fernandes, Mathenee Treco and Gabe Brown and they are awesome. They got along well and it showed on stage! The judges talk and they are all going on to the solo rounds!

Normal Hills is next, which includes Johnny Keyser, and they seemed to come to a quick agreement on the song and worked well, but Johnny doesn’t seem to be remembering the lyrics and forgets them during his performances. The group seems to follow his lead and is not very good. Kareem Clark is sent home, but the others move forward.

The next group has Charlie Askew and he got sick during the rehearsals, but is better for the performance and even though it seems to be all about Curtis Finch, Jr., the judges loved them all and they are moving on.

The next group is The Four Tones, which has Micah Johnson, Vincent Powell, Marvin Calderon and David Willis. They do very well and all four go through.

Zach Birnbaum, Nate Tao, Cortez Shaw and Elijah Liu are next and apparently Cortez changed Nicki’s mind and they all make it to the next round!

The next group thought they had the lyrics, seeming it only had seven lyrics, but they all screw the song and the judges are not impressed, but Will White and Paul Jolley move to the solo round.

Another group and another group not knowing their lyrics and they sound like hell! Nicki loved it, but the rest thought it was terrible Nicki wants to save her Turbanator. Somehow though, they all make it through to the next round!

I guess talking up the judges before you perform is not good, because the next group tried to sweet talk Mariah and Nicki, but they all get sent home.

Even though they can use a live band, the next group decides to go a capella! They do it well though and three of them move forward, but the one who chose to do it a capella is sent home…ironic?

Burnell Taylor made Mariah cry in his audition, but he struggled in the group performance and didn’t have the lyrics down coming into it. The judges were not impressed, but they send Burnell and Tony Foster, Jr. through.

Time for Lazaro Arbos’ group and he struggled learning the lyrics because he is not from America, so his group feel he held them back. Mariah said they were inconsistent throughout the performance, but they do move Lazaro and Christian Lopez on to the next round. Are you excited for Lazaro?

Now it is time for Country Queen and Lee Pritchard starts it out and struggles with the words. The Queens do well and Trevor Blakney comes out and sounds decent, but then forget the lyrics and loses it and is in and out from that point on. From the performance, the country was cut short and the queen moved on to the next round.

Now it is time for the youngest group on American Idol 2013, as David Leathers, Jr. (he was the last one cut last season at Hollywood Week), Kevin Quinn, Kayden Stephenson and Sanni M’Mairura take the stage. David and Sanni move forward and I knew Kayden was not that great.

Some others leaving: Griffin Peterson and Clifton Duffin.

We are at the last group of the night on American Idol 2013 and it is Papa Peachez, Charles Allen, Adam Sanders and Frankie Ford. The group is a hot mess, including Frankie before they take the stage. Frankie and Papa sucked it up, but I enjoyed Charles and Adam, but it was a bad performance. The judges discuss and Frankie is going home, but the other three make it.
