Tonight’s episode of Chicago PD season 4 started off with Will showing up at the precinct to talk to Jay about one of Jay’s exes showing up in town and contact Will asking about Jay. Jay tells him that she has tried to contact him too, but he has been ignoring the attempts. He had no idea she was in town though.
Meanwhile, Lindsay comes in and tells them they have a call and have to go. They get to the location of the call and talk to a man who claims there is a girl running around the woods barefoot in the freezing weather. They split up and look around and Jay and Lindsay find a storage container in the middle of the woods. They call it in and when the rest of the team get there they open the door to find a young woman, her name is Juliana, and she is shackled inside. She is telling them that there is a bomb and she was told she couldn’t leave. After looking around, they find no bomb and Lindsay walks up and takes the shackles off the woman and get her out of there.
They get Juliana to the hospital and she refuses a rape kit, claims he never touched her. She says that she was replying to an ad on Craigslist about a caretaker for his cabin. She adds that she escaped the storage container that she was locked up in and ran into the hiker, Sam, got scared and then ran back to where she was being held.
When Jay and Lindsay walk up to the department, Abby, Jay’s ex, is standing outside and asks to talk. Apparently she is getting married and needs Jay to sign divorce papers?!?! He said he did eight years ago, but she didn’t so she had to have new ones drawn up. He says he will sign them and asks for them to sign, but she doesn’t have them on her. She asks to meet for a drink later that night and she will bring them with her. He agrees.
Meanwhile, Olinsky shows up to work and tells Ruzek that they are going to head over to see the former owner of the cabin to see if she has any information on the guy who bought the cabin from her. They go there and find out that her husband actually owned it, but he died. She tells them that she didn’t know the new buyer, but her husband kept all the paperwork in his office and she tells them they can look around.
Back at the cabin, Atwater is called outside, they discovered two bodies buried outside, one male and one female. The male has been there for about a year and the female was there about three or four years. Olinsky finds the paperwork on the sale of the cabin, the new owners name is Austin Forchette. Juliana was taken care of while in captivity, but the two bodies they found buried outside were starved to death so they don’t think that he was responsible for the two bodies.
The team get a video message about another girl was taken with Juliana, her name is Shanee and she is still missing. Jay and Lindsay go back to the hospital to talk to Juliana again to find out why she is lying to them and not giving them any information, she tells them he is going to kill her. She points his picture out on the photo lineup and then tells them that he is driving a green jeep and belongs to his brother. They find out that Austin has a foster brother, who drives a green jeep so they head to his house. When they get there, they find the brother, Marcus, as he is leaving his house. He tells them that Austin went out the back and they hear a car speed off.
They follow Austin who is driving a blue Mustang and after a brief chase, he crashes into the front end of a dump truck. He is still moving, but when they surround the car and try and get him out, he pulls out a gun and shoots himself in the head. He dies. They think that the car is Juliana’s and the sweater they found in the back is Shanee’s.
Voight and Olinksy are questioning Marcus about the whereabouts of his brother over the last week and explains that he had been crashing with him. He tells them that there is no way that Austin lured girls using Craigslist because he didn’t read or write. The team got some information off a laptop, including their email history and they find angry email from a man who responded to the same ad, three years ago, that Shanee and Juliana responded to just a week ago.
They find him and he tells them that it was a sick game that Austin and another man were playing. When Austin refused to partake in their little sexual fantasy, he left, but Austin and his accomplice hacked his bank accounts and sent personal pictures of him and his boyfriend to his parents. Told Atwater and Ruzek that he can help ID the second guy, but he never got a name.
Back at the precinct, Lindsay tells the team that the storage container Juliana was found in was reported stolen 5 years ago. The truck it went missing off of is the one that the original owner of the cabin, Darren, drove before being fired from the company shortly before he died. Ruzek and Atwater go to check out the widow to see if she knows anything about this, but they get locked into a basement room where they found Shanee.
Back at the precinct, Burgess gets the sketch back from the guy and it looks just like the dead husband! Jay asks if Ruzek got anything back from the widow, but no one has heard from them. They head over to the widow’s house and Voight tells them to turn the place inside out. Jay sees that the fridge isn’t plugged in and when he moves it, he finds the door that leads to the room that Ruzek, Atwater and Shanee are locked in. The widow tells them she has never seen the door before and she has no idea how to open it, Voight doesn’t believe her.
He grabs her by her shirt and drags her outside to the shed and threatens bodily harm if she doesn’t give him the code for the door and she tells him that he won’t do anything because he has no proof of anything. He is able to get the code of the door. We find out that Darren hired Austin to keep him out of trouble, she says that he was a trouble maker and tries to blame it on Austin. Voight tells her she can’t pin this on Austin, because he is dead and when he shows her pictures to prove it, she thinks he is lying. She is clearly upset about it. She continued the work her husband started with Austin, but they still can’t figure out if Darren or his wife were the mastermind of this. Either way, she’s going to jail for what she did to Shanee and Julianna.
Earlier Jay told Lindsay about Abby, after she asked who she was and why she was blowing up his phone. Jay goes to meet with Abby to sign the divorce papers, but she didn’t actually bring them. She admits to lying to Jay about the fiance in Philly and that she just wanted to see him. He tells her that she deserves someone to make her happy, but he isn’t that person. When Lindsay gets home, she finds Jay packing a bag to go stay at Will’s and tells her that he is going to stay there for a little while until he can sort things out. Tells her that he is still married and has to figure that out.
