Big Little Lies Season 1 Spoilers: Episode 5 Sneak Peek (Video)

Big Little Lies season 1 episode 5 is titled “Once Bitten.” According to the episode synopsis, “Madeline Mackenzie (Reese Witherspoon) receives encouraging news about the play from her director, but his newly icy demeanor concerns her; Principal Nippal (P.J. Byrne) and Ms. Barnes (Virginia Kull) talk to Jane Chapman (Shailene Woodley) about Ziggy Chapman (Iain Armitage) and Amabella Klein (Ivy George); Dr. Amanda Reisman (Robin Weigert) examines Celeste Wright‘s (Nicole Kidman) relationship with Perry Wright (Alexander Skarsgard).” For a refresher on what happened last week, read my recap of episode 4.

In the Big Little Lies season 1 episode 4 promo video, Madeline asks Jane about the fact that she’s doing target practice. The timing seems suspicious since they’re about to go on a road trip to find Ziggy’s father, the man who sexually assaulted Jane. Then, Renata Klein (Laura Dern) finds bite marks on Amabella and asks her what happened. In therapy, Celeste reflects on the fact that she and Perry seem to turn each other on by rage. Ed Mackenzie (Adam Scott) tells Madeline that he doesn’t know where her head has been the last couple days. He asks what she’s not telling him.
