The latest episode of The Flash Season 3 continues the saga of Grodd as he attempts to return to Earth One and Central City. The previous episode of The Flash Season 3 ended with Grodd using Gypsy to create a breach into the universe of Earth One as he rallied his army of gorilla soldiers. The preview of episode 14 of The Flash Season 3 makes it clear that Grodd at least succeeded in making his way to Central City, but what of his plan to conquer it?
The preview for “Attack on Central City” opens with Barry (Grant Gustin) bemoaning the fact that every time he things they beat Grodd, he returns stronger. Barry vows to stop them as Joe (Jesse L. Martin) tells him that if Grodd’s army makes it across the bridge, they’ll overrun the city. Barry as The Flash, Jessie Quick (Violett Beane), and Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) quickly band together to stop the invading forces. When the outnumbered and outpowered crew look for advice from The Flash on how to stop the ape army, his only advice is to “go for the legs.”
From there, it’s all speedsters and super simians going wild as Team Flash clashes with Grodd’s army. All this while Iris’ uncertain future hangs over Team Flash, especially the headlines Barry glimpsed that spoke of Grodd’s attack on Central City. In his attempt to stop Grodd, Barry must no doubt balance saving Iris by influencing the future in any way he can.
