Kai Parker returns on The Vampire Diaries season 8 episode 13. For a refresher on what happened last week, read my recap of episode 12.
The Vampire Diaries season 8 episode 13 opens with Kai suddenly finding himself out of hell and in Mystic Falls. However, things are still amiss. For instance, he discovers that food doesn’t taste like anything to him. But, he still has his magic.
Kai tells Damon Salvatore and Alaric Saltzman that, thanks to the bell they rang, he’s stuck between dimensions.
Dorian Williams holds a gun on Stefan. He holds a gun on Stefan, then informs him that Stefan killed his family. He leads him to the middle of the woods and tells him, “Start digging.”
Bonnie Bennett tries to contact Enzo St. John. She’s interrupted by a call from Damon checking on her.
Damon and Kai go to a cafe. Kai starts coughing up blood. He tells Damon that Bonnie better come up with a way to fix his situation. He says, “If I go, so does your shot at happiness.”
Kai is in a lot of pain as he asks Damon about Cade and the sirens. He gets the idea to preserve his spot in Earth by killing an evil person.
Bonnie talks to Cade about getting Enzo out of hell. Cade transports her to a delapadated version of her house, where she finds Enzo.
Bonnie kisses Enzo. He tells her, “You have to get away from Cade. He’s trying to find me through you. He’s trying to claim my soul for hell.”
Dorian shoots Stefan, but doesn’t hit anything fatal. Stefan turns white as he loses blood. Dorian shakes him.
Caroline Forbes arrives. Dorian suggests she save Stefan with her blood, but Caroline says that now that he’s taken the cure, her blood won’t help him anymore.
Damon tells Kai that Cade is coming for him. He says that he needs to redeem himself. Then, he says, “You’re gonna bring Elena Gilbert back to life. Right now.”
Matt Donovan talks to Dorian at the hospital. He says that Stefan is stable.
Kai starts sucking energy from Damon. He tells them that there’s no such thing as redemption. He says, “If I’m going down, I’m going out with a bang.” He disappears with Elena’s coffin.
