Tonight’s episode of Chicago PD season 4 started off with Lindsay and Halstead at the range for requalification when one of the guys running it comes over and tells Lindsay that they need to watch their backs with Rixton. After leaving the range, they have to report to a call of a natural gas explosion where the pipe was pulled and it’s looking like it’s intentional. While looking around, they find a live victim under the rubble and they get them out as fast as possible.
There was a victim in the rubble that didn’t make it out alive, Dan is a tenant in the building, victim two who is still alive, but they can’t get an ID on him. All of the other people who were in the LBGT building next door are accounted for so they think that this might be the fire starter. Atwater is paired up with Rixton, this comes after Halstead warned him and Olinsky about what they heard at the range. Halstead pulls Atwater and Lindsay aside to let them know that there are indictments being handed down to Rixton’s old unit. Lindsay is going to talk to Antonio about it.
The owner, Fred Teeg is downstairs to talk to them about what happened to his building and clear up some misconceptions about why he raised his insurance. This was because he was having some work done on the building. He also tells them that Dan has a girlfriend, Vivica. Burgess and Olinsky goes to talk to her, but they let her know that they are still waiting for confirmation.
Later, Atwater and Rixton get to the hospital they find out that the other victim was DOA to the hospital, his name was Kyle and he was a member of the LBGT home for teens. There was a young girl there who was friends with Kyle and she tells them that they never had any problems with Dan, in fact he would stick up for them when he had to. He actually went after a guy who was going after Kyle for kissing another boy outside where his daughter could see. They bring him in and when Lindsay and Halstead tell him that Dan’s house was set on fire and another person died he starts grinning. Burgess comes in as Halstead is threatening to wipe the grin off his face, she tells them they are going to want to see this.
Dan, the man who they thought was dead inside the building is standing there with Vivica. Voight brings him in to talk to him about his relationship with Kyle and how he knew him. He gets offended when Voight accuses him of having a sexual relationship with him and he leaves. Meanwhile, Antonio comes in and tells Lindsay that he found out that there where seven indictments coming down, but Rixton was in an eight man team.
Burgess and Olinksy go to the ME’s office to get some information on the first victim that they thought was Dan. They find a watch and a wedding band and are able to trace them back to a guy named Curt, but the original name that they got was Bill Johns. They also found out he was shot before he was burned in the house.
Curt was trying to buy a house from a real estate agent under the alias Bill Johns, but he told his wife that he was going to New York for business. His name, Curt Framingham, doesn’t come up in any database nationwide. They are able to get a hit on another name, Curt Forester, to his and he was arrested for running a ponzy scheme.
Platt had to go to the hospital because a homeless man named Marvin had a needle in his pocket that stuck her. When she left, the other office arrested the homeless man. He was rambling about his dog being taken by someone, but arresting him allowed them to take a blood sample to run for any diseases that Platt could have been exposed to. They find out that she didn’t get anything from the needle stick.
Burgess gets the ballistics report on the bullet that killed Curt. The gun was registered to a woman named Roxanne and when they get to her house, she tells them she just got home. She broke her ankle in a car accident the night before and her brother and fiance were at her house. Her brother, Raphael has a record for aggravated assault with a weapon in Florida. She lets them into her safe, where she keeps her gun, but it’s missing. We then find out that her fiance’s name is Bill Johns. They were planning on moving into a new house together.
Curt’s wife shows up to the precinct to talk to Lindsay and starts asking questions about what happened. She then asks Lindsay what they know about her husband’s death. She asks the wife if she knows that her husband had another name before he met her and she looks stunned by the news.
Later, Marvin’s dog shows up outside the precinct and when Platt brings him his dog, Marvin says something about the house with the red door. Platt runs up and tells Voight that she thinks that they have the wrong guy because Marvin said that his friend Jupiter took the dog and they call him Jupiter because he is a big man.
Jupiter is actually the man they found in the house, Curt put his watch and ring on him to make it look like he died in the explosion. They are able to trace Curt’s credit cards to a hotel where they find him and his wife there and they were heading to Canada. They are both arrested and brought in.
We end the episode off with Halstead and everyone else publicly apologizing to Rixton for all the whispers around the unit. After, Voight tells them what happened to Rixton’s old squad and it was nothing that Rixton did. While Burgess is leaving the precinct, Ruzek shows up and he tells her that his undercover assignment is over and he wants to come back to intelligence. That’s after he admits to running after he found out she was being moved up. He asks if it’s ok that he come back and she tells him “of course” and then gives him a hug. They then end up kissing! Bruzek coming back????? Find out next week!
