In the Arrow season 5 episode 13 promo video, someone asks Oliver his administration’s policy on gun control. He says, “It’s complicated.” Later, Rene tells him, “It’s simple. If the bad guys got guns, then I’m strapping up too.” But, Oliver says, “We cannot dismiss the idea that we are just feeding into a viscous cycle.” At the end of the promo, Quentin Lance tells Oliver, “This is a problem that the Green Arrow can’t solve.” Watch the Arrow season 5 episode 13 trailer below.
In a behind-the-scenes video for Arrow season 5 episode 13, Wendy Mericle discusses the episode. The video opens with a clip where Oliver welcomes Thea Queen back. In another clip, Rene informs Thea that he’s the new deputy mayor’s assistant. So, Thea says, “I never should’ve left.” Mericle explains that this story is between Rene and Quentin. So, it’s two characters we haven’t seen interact much before. In a clip, Quentin tells Rene, “It’s illegal for someone such as yourself to own a firearm.” Rene responds, “But, it’s pretty easy to buy one, though.”
Mericle then says that in this episode, we’ll find out about Rene’s past. She says, “It’s a very tragic story that I think will give us a lot of insight into who he is and why Wild Dog is the crazy guy that he is.” In a sneak peek clip, Rene tells a woman, “No matter what I’ve done, I’ve never done drugs. And I’ve never done it in our baby girl’s home.” Watch the Arrow season 5 episode 13 behind-the-scenes video below.
