The Bad Girls are back! Bad Girls Club Season 17 premiered tonight promising to up the crazy, the ratchet and the flying hands. Seven new Bad Girls moved in to their industrial loft to turn up and show America how stereotypical they can be! I can’t contain my excitement!
Much like every other iteration of Bad Girls Club, the audience meets the girls in clusters. The producers send them to locales that provide them with the right amount of booze to stir the pot. The first two girls we meet are Kiyanna hailing from Brooklyn and DeShayla representing Norfolk, VA. Our next two bad girls are the local girls from the greater Los Angeles area. First there is Keyaira, residing from Compton, and Sayyora residing in Hollywood by way of Uzbekistan.
Notable quotations from these four Bad Girls include:
“Turn up” – Kiyanna & DeShayla, a notable and common phrase of the cast members.
“I’ve got these hands” – Sayyora, expressing how she solves problems with other females.
“I’ve kinda been shot at” – Keyaira proclaims after attempting to convince Compton isn’t all that bad.
“God knows I’ll beat a b***h up” – Keyaira once again proving that she does not mess around with females who cross her.
My thoughts on Susan vary. I feel that the casting special did not do her justice. In her confessionals alone, she admits to having made out with 30 men at one time at a party. She could not even truly remember how many men she may have infected with an oral STD. She also wants to own a beauty bar in her future. The producers are savage as they show a can of Pringles on her makeup counter. Are the Pringles what give her that nice tan/orange glow? This girl is a mess from the jump.
I can completely understand why the producers of the Bad Girls Club Season 17 had to film the girls in a refurbished industrial building. The sheer volume of their normal voices is bad enough. The commotion they make when drunk and stupid would wake any normal neighbor up. Good thinking on the producers to avoid any future neighborhood drama this season!
The sixth Bad Girl is the life size “Rock & Roll Barbie” Francesca. We must applaud her for daring to walk out in public dressed how she was, but it did her no justice. My initial thought about her was that she had missed her calling to be on Rock of Love by about a decade.
Last but not least is the self proclaimed “Queen of the Ghetto” Seven. I should not pass judgment on her parents for giving her a name like that. The producers have her enter through the backdoor and I question whether we are supposed to interpret that to mean something.
In any case, the cast is mingling with one another. Subsequently, Sayyora and Susan enter in to converstion. We learn Susan has a husband she doesn’t love, a man that pays her bills, and another gentleman who she makes love to. Going on national television is not helping your cause Susan. This whole conversation is recipe for disaster. No doubt, Sayorra stirs the pot and shares the news with DeShayla and it’s overheard by the rest of the girls. I smell confrontation!
Coincidentally, after a rough night out, the girls are on their sun deck chatting. The topic of Susan comes up and Kiyanna refers to Susan as a cheater, Keyaira feels a certain type of way about Susan and her failed covenant with God. On the other hand, Seven is only worried about Sayyora being a sketchy b***h. Time will tell all ladies!
Arguably, most of the drama on the premiere episode of Bad Girls Club Season 17 revolves around Susan. For example, the ladies enjoy their first meal together and question her motives for being married so young and staying in a relationship that is not working. Next, the producers splice together the conversation to paint Susan as an awful person. Susan talks about hr unhappiness in her marriage and avoiding moving in with her husband. Those are all reasons not to be married!
All things considerd, I believe that Susan was trying to open herself up to the other girls. Whether or not the girl’s intentions were pure to have the conversation, I don’t believe Susan should have played all her cards at one time. Moreover, the back and forth about Sayyora’s inability to keep her mouth shut will lead to further trouble. In addition, the girls have nothing else to talk about yet.
On the other hand, Seven is busy skating around Los Angeles on her longboard showing how different she is from the other girls. Ironically, the audience learns that not all weaves are welcomed by usage of the longboard. Who knew we would learn something new from Bad Girls Club Season 17?
In my opinion, the arguments on this premiere episode of Bad Girls Club Season 17 are both petty and childish. Keyaira was so mad over some Knorr pasta sides in a drawer. Yes, food doesn’t belong in drawers, but there is no need to feel extra about it. I don’t know if Keyaira was playing it up for the camera, but her reaction was super dramatic. Furthermore, I found it hysterical that Keyaira shaded Sayyora with this burn, “you know where to put d**k, but you don’t know where rice goes.” We must give Keyaira props when props are due.
Above all, the premiere episode of Bad Girls Club becomes fascinating after the girls come home from the club. Susan was “being a ho” according to Keyaira when they were up in the club. Don’t worry, she would change her tone however when the drama starts. All things considered, Susan felt hurt by Sayyora’s alleged betrayal. That unfortunately is the price of opening up to complete strangers.
Lastly, we get treated to Kiyanna shoving Sayorra to keep her away from Keyaira and the pending argument waiting to happen.
Overall, this premiere episode set the tone for the season and Bad Girls Club Season 17 does not look to disappoint. The girls may have entered repping their coast, but they are all out for themselves.
Bad Girls Club Season 17 airs every Tuesday at 8pm EST on the Oxygen Network.
