After two months without Grey’s Anatomy Season 13, we were back with the midseason premiere tonight on ABC and they actually gave us an episode that had nothing to do where they left off! Yeah, I was not a happy camper, even if it was a very good episode of Grey’s Anatomy 2017! Check out all the intense action for the “You Can Look (But You’d Better Not Touch)” episode on TGIT below in our Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 Recap!
Last time on Grey’s Anatomy on ABC, we were left with so many questions and so much drama during the Winter Finale. I mean, Alex appeared to be going to the District Attorney and turning himself in for beating up DeLuca, but was Meredith able to stop him with her voicemail message to him? Then Minnick was hired to pretty much replace Webber and he finally figured it out. We were left with all the drama between April and Jackson and how he clearly wants her, but is telling her to go out and date!
Warning: This post contains spoilers from Grey’s Anatomy tonight on ABC, so stop reading now if you don’t want to know what happened!!!
We start with Bailey, Jo and Arizona driving. Bailey doesn’t want to go, but Arizona said she needs to see this patient and this is the only time they could do it. Bailey is wondering if Jo would be okay with this all, since Alex has his trial the next day. So, this is going on while Alex is at the DA’s office. They talk about the patient, who is 16 years old and 31 weeks pregnant.
They arrive and are at the Tri-County Hospital, Prison Floor! There are signs everywhere that says high security area. The girl’s attorney arrives and gets them through security to check on her client. They get in and have their badges and going through all the different gates. Things are definitely moving quickly, but the attorney is talking fast and moving them through the process.
They meet the doctor there and told that the patient is allowed to touch them, but the doctors can’t touch her. She gets angry quickly with sudden moves. If she delivers today, then she has 24 hours with the baby and then goes back to maximum security. These are violent offenders, but they don’t tell her what Kristen did. At the door, Kristen said she is hungry, but the doctor said she got her snack an hour ago.
They go into her room and Arizona is very positive about things. However, Kristen attacks the prison doctor! She breaks her finger in the process, which is intense and Bailey said this is not a normal patient. The prison doctor leaves and Bailey goes to check on her finger.
In the room, Arizona and Jo start checking on Kristen. They go to touch her and Kristen freaks out! They calm her down and check on the baby, as she has a mass attached and it is sucking all the blood from the baby. They are going to do a procedure to remove the cardiac twin. Kristen thought she was having the baby today and her mother would come be with her. Not the case, as she is just having the procedure and Kristen is pissed. The attorney calms her down.
Kristen tells a story about a movie and the prisoner got to have her mother bring the baby to her every morning. Bailey rolls her eyes and Kristen notices and calls her out on it. It looks like Bailey has very bad feelings about prisoners and Arizona and Jo question her on it. It turns out that the attorney has to go downstairs, so the doctors are all on their own on Grey’s Anatomy Season 13!
Arizona and Jo are working on Kristen and trying to get the baby in the right place to do the procedure. The baby is not moving though and Kristen is getting mad. The prison doctor comes in and said Arizona is needed by the attorney! So, now it is just Jo and Kristen.
Bailey is walking the halls and a prisoner asks her to check her out, as she has some infection and now it is smelling. Back to Jo, as she is trying to relate to Kristen and her childhood and growing up. However, Kristen grew up with a rich family and tells her more secrets, but then said if Jo tells anyone what she just said, she will kill her!
Bailey confronts the prison doctor about the prisoner she helped. She goes off about not doing things properly and what should be done and said she is a chief doctor. The prison doctor then takes her into the supply closet and gives her scenarios and basically shows Bailey they have NO supplies from the number of women there and the state allocates her funds, which is none!
Arizona is downstairs and Kristen’s mother is there. She tells Arizona to not tell Kristen she is there, but Arizona said she would be happy to hear she is there. Back with Bailey and Jo, Arizona said that the mother plans on taking the baby when Kristen has it and never bring it back to see Kristen! They said Kristen would be devastated, so they can’t tell her. Jo is livid!
Time for the procedure, as they go in with the probe and everything is going fine. Kristen is talking about her mother and she kept her in the dark on everything, which Arizona makes a face. Kristen catches it and knows something bad is happening and starts moving all around and everyone is trying to calm her. They finish the probe, but the water broke!
Arizona goes to talk to Kristen’s mother and said she is in labor and Kristen is far enough along that the baby should be fine. Arizona tells her mother that Kristen needs her, but her mother said she can’t see her and warns Arizona to keep an eye on her own daughter.
Back in the room, Kristen is having contractions and wants her mother there. She knows something is going on and keeps asking. She tells Jo that she knows something and Jo finally says it, as she said her mother is downstairs and does not want to see her!
Kristen is asking for her mother and said they are all liars. Jo said they don’t know why, but she won’t come. Kristen is emotional and said she wants her mom. She said she can’t do this alone and then Bailey grabs her hand and said she is not alone. Kristen is pissed and Bailey said take it out on her, as she pushes the baby. Her wrists are losing blood because of the handcuffs and they ask them to be taken off and the prison finally agrees to it.
No restraints and Kristen gets the final pushes in and the baby comes out and no issues! At 31 weeks and the baby is this big? Kristen is out of it, but Bailey said she is proud of her.
Jo has the baby, but Kristen said she doesn’t want her and she is not her mother. She finally gives in and holds the baby and gives her a little speech of not being like her and listen to her grandma. Jo hugs Kristen and said the baby will be okay. She will miss her every day, but she will be okay.
Outside, the prison doctor said Kristen will recover for three days and then go back to general population for her sentence, which is 20 years to life! Then we see Arizona talking to the mother and giving her instructions. She ends with telling her if this one doesn’t listen, will she leave her too….BAM!
Out in the car, Bailey said things do happen to people. She proceeds to say that Alex came to her the night before and he was going to the DA to take a plea bargain and he was going to prison! Jo tells her to pull over and she gets out and pukes. She gets back in and they just drive off!
