Elizabeth Keen receives a mysterious diorama depicting a crime in The Blacklist season 4 episode 10. For a refresher on what happened last week, read my recap of episode 9.
The Blacklist season 4 episode 10 opens with Liz and Tom Keen moving into a new apartment after getting out of Raymond Reddington‘s safe house. The doorbell rings and Liz sees a diorama sitting outside their door. It shows a woman drowning in a pool and has a note that says “please save her.” Later, we see a woman drowning in a pool, just like the diorama.
Liz tells Samar Navabi and Aram Mojtabai about what happened. She explains that she received the diorama two hours before the victim, an upstanding judge, died.
While Tom is at home working on unpacking, another diorama is delivered to the apartment. It shows a man bleeding out in the middle of the road.
Samar and Aram go through the judges old cases to see if it was a revenge kill. Aram identifies the building in the second diorama as an old post office tower.
Liz meets the woman who’s been sending the dioramas. The woman explains that they’re based on premonitions. The police never believed her about the premonitions, but she thought Liz might. She reveals that the person having the premonitions and making the dioramas is her 9-year-old daughter Maggie Driscol.
Aram gives a report to the rest of the task force showing all the catastrophic events around the world that match the dioramas. Liz gets a call from Tom, who tells her that agents are parked outside watching their apartment. Liz assures him that the person who delivered the dioramas isn’t the killer.
Aram develops a theory that Maggie is picking up communications on her hearing aid. The task force sets up a system to listen to the signal. They hear a big of a conversation, but then lose the signal. Aram says that next time they make a call, they’ll find them.
They pick up another car. They hear the killers discussing the fact that Maggie’s mother informed the FBI about their murder. One of them says, “She’s a threat that needs to be dealt with.”
Meanwhile, Red pursues a deal on a mine. But, once he’s in the room with both of the men who own stakes in the mine, its revealed his true interest was revenge because they killed a friend of his. He kills one of them and threatens the other.
The team finds out that the man after Maggie is Benjamin Alan Charnquist. Aram discovers there’s a pattern with all the events Maggie heard about: they all dramatically affected stock in different companies. They realize Benjamin’s partner was a CEO named Chris Farnsworth, whose company made money off of all of the murders.
Red kills the other mine owner. Cleaners who work for one of them arrive. Red says that he’d like to hire them himself and he’ll double what they were making.
Maggie creates a new diorama and the task force uses that information to figure out Benjamin and Chris’ next target. Harold Cooper tries to call the building to prevent it, but it’s too late and the security guard he’s talking to is shot. The task force arrives at the building just in time to stop the victim from being crushed in a free-falling elevator. But, Farnsworth gets away.
At the end of the episode, Liz asks Dembe about the new cleaners that Red has hired. He tells her that he didn’t just replace Mr. Kaplan— he killed her.
