If you missed last week’s episode of Chicago PD 2017, check out my Chicago PD season 4 recap right here! Tonight’s episode of Chicago PD season 4 started off with Jimmy showing up to see Lindsay at work to bring her the photo album that he had. Halstead offers him a cup of coffee and after he leaves, Halstead takes the mug to have the DNA tested to make sure he is who Bunny says he is. Voight comes in to tell them that they caught a case and when they get to the scene, they find that the victim has his penis cut off. The victim is a registered sex offender named Sanford Greg and he had gone into a store and stolen bandages to try and patch himself up before he died.
They find out that a guy name George was the one who called 911 and he said that he thought there was a sexual assault because he heard a woman screaming and he saw her toss something as she ran by his house. The found a knife in the bushes with blood on it and they were able to get surveillance video of the girl as she ran down the street. They get a name off facial recognition, her name is Emily Vega and she is a runaway who hangs out on the street.
Burgess and Olinksy go to look for her and they find her, she runs, but Burgess is able to grab her. When they bring her back to the precinct, they find out that he tried to rape her and when he pulled his pants down, she reached for her knife and sliced him. Problem with her story is, he was found in another location and she gets defensive when they make it seem like she might have killed him somewhere else. When Atwater and Brixton go to talk to the ME, she tells them that he didn’t bleed out, he was strangled to death.
Halstead brings Lindsay the results of the DNA test on Jimmy, he isn’t her father. She gets really upset that he would just leave it alone and let her have her “dad,” asks him is he’s “happy now” and walks away after he tells her. Burgess goes back to talk to Emily again to see if there is anything else she wants to tell her. She admits to telling a couple of her friends.
Halstead and Brixton go to pay a visit to a guy who filed a complaint, but the guy living at the address just moved in so he doesn’t know anything about it but mentioned asking the “Special Police” about it. Lindsay takes a personal day to handle something and goes to talk to her mother. She tells Bunny about the DNA results and when Lindsay asks if Bunny should tell him the truth or Lindsay, Bunny says, “he really cares about you, maybe we don’t tell him?” Lindsay pushes everything off the table between them and screams, “WHY DO YOU KEEP DOING THIS TO ME?” and storms off.
Voight asks Halstead what’s going on with Lindsay and at first Halstead refuses to talk, but Voight talks him into it and he tells him that Jimmy isn’t Lindsay’s father and she considers him the bad guy. Olinksy finds out that Emily had words with Sanford a week before he died and Voight sends him in to talk to Emily. She admits to it.
Halstead finds some odd behaviors regarding the “Special Police” where they responded to a call and then one of the guys involved ended up dead of an overdose. Problem is, he had no drug priors and when Voight and Halstead went to look at the guys body, he has strangulation marks on his throat. Voight goes to pay Officer Lodell a visit and he is in the process of roughing up another guy with a couple of his officers. Lodell denies that there is anything going on, but Voight knows some things about Lodell’s past that he tells Voight to worry about the murder rate in the city.
Lindsay calls Jimmy and tells him the DNA results and when he meets with Lindsay, he accuses her of being in on a con with her mother to try and get something out of him! He throws the photo album on the ground and gets back into his truck and peels off. Halstead is still trying to get a hold of Lindsay, but she isn’t responding to text messages or answering calls. Bunny shows up at the precinct to talk to Voight because she thinks that the DNA test was run by him. We find out that Voight and her apparently slept together once!
Olinsky and Halstead go to see one of Lodell’s officers, James Mooney, who responded to a complaint made against Sanford the same night that he died. An ASA comes in to talk to them about who they are charging with Sanford’s murder because Emily is still looking good for it. When Platt comes back to give Mooney a water, Voight and Halstead are out in the hallway talking to the ASA. Platt says that the door is locked so Halstead looks in the observatory room and he finds Mooney hung himself with his shirt! Halstead breaks through the window and they cut him down. He is still alive and the ASA is convinced that he is guilty and tells Burgess to cut Emily loose.
Lodell comes in to talk to Voight and he tells Voight what happened during the incident that Voight blackmailed him with earlier. He tells him everything including the night that Sanford was killed, Mooney was following Lodell’s orders. Lodell is able to work out a deal for Mooney as long as he takes the wrap for his part of it.
Lindsay sends Halstead a text to let him know she is ok and she will be home later. Lindsay is having drinks with a friend, Annie and she is telling Lindsay that none of this is her fault and that her mother is never going to change. She tells her that the best thing she can do is get away from Bunny. Like move out of Chicago, but she tells her that she can’t and Annie asks her what’s stopping her….That’s where the episode ended.
