Charlotte Richards tries to turn Chloe Decker against Lucifer Morningstar in Lucifer season 2 episode 10. For a refresher on what happened last week, read my recap of episode 9.
Lucifer season 2 episode 10 opens with Charlotte about to detonate Chloe. Amenadiel shows up to stop her. He tells her that if she hurts Chloe, Lucifer won’t forgive her.
Lucifer escorts Chloe to the trial of Perry, the man who killed her father. Charlotte shows up as a lawyer on the case. Lucifer softly says, “What are you up to now, mother?”
Chloe worries about Charlotte Richards being the judge because of her previous life as an intense lawyer. Lucifer tells her that Charlotte’s not the shark that she once was.
Chloe tells Lucifer that he doesn’t have to stick around because she knows trials can be boring. He tells her, “Not this one.” Moments later, he’s sworn in as a witness in the trial.
Lucifer addresses the jury and tells them about when he arrested Boris, a man who worked for Perry. Much to Charlotte’s dismay, he charms the jury with his story.
Amenadiel goes to Chloe’s house. When Maze catches him, he lies and says that he was there looking for her and that he misses her. She claims she misses him too and kisses him so that she can take the detonator from him. She tells him to tell Charlotte not to hurt Chloe and to never lie to her again.
Charlotte cross-examines Lucifer. She leads him into supporting an alternative story in which Chloe is intentionally framing an innocent man. Afterwards, Chloe accuses Lucifer of being the reason that Charlotte knew the right questions to ask.
While Lucifer, Maze and Dan Espinoza work the case, Dan admits that Charlotte found out details about the case because of him and that he slept with her. Lucifer is shocked and attacks Dan.
A group of gang members all point guns at Lucifer. Lucifer introduces himself to their leader, who gets them to lower their guns. He tells them that Madame Lee, the gangleader, will give them the name of the man who killed Boris if they can defeat a man named Chang in a fight. Maze fights him.
Lucifer and Dan go after Boris’ killer. They find Borsi’ body and his killer’s. They realize the killer’s gang turned against him and that both of them dying was Perry’s plan the whole time.
Chloe talks to Charlotte. Charlotte says that without Boris’ testimony the trial is basically over. Chloe says, “The investigation into that monster that you call a client is ongoing.” Charlotte says that Chloe could still send Perry to jail if she calls Lucifer a liar.
Chloe decides not to do this. She says that Lucifer’s testimony is reliable and Perry goes free as a result. At the end of the episode, Lucifer brings Chloe dinner and they almost kiss.
